"The person who helped us check in was fantastic. The continental breakfast was good. Room was clean. Only thing was there was no warm/hot water so we had to shower in cold water."

"The front desk clerk at reception really set the (bad) tone for the stay. All the details below, but we felt pretty insulted by staff to the point that we would not recommend this hotel. Rooms are dated but clean. It has a pool facing the water and it is perfectly nice and very, very cold; hot tub is nice too (but it doesn't have jets, fyi). They have happy hour most, if not all, days of the week. Hot breakfast was simple yet filling; breakfast staff were nice and efficient. Short walk by the water to German restaurant Brotzeit Lokal, Zocalo Cafe, and Lumpia Company. Our experience with front desk clerk at Executive Inn & Suites Embarcadero Cove: First he tried to upsell us on a waterfront room, even going as far as saying we could "pay for it" with our deposit. Like, sir, what? I have been offered upgrades before, but this was degrading. Yuck. Then when we got to the room, we noticed our bed was not a king. We have a king at home so we know what size they are supposed to be. We measured it and it was 65 inches wide. A king should be 80 inches wide. So we went down to request the king we paid for, and that same clerk told us that "he didn't know the difference" but that that was a king-sized bed. Bed size is not an opinion; it is standard. So if Executive Inn & Suites Embarcadero Cove charges for a king-sized bed, it should be 80 inches. And if it is not, as it wasn't, then they are cheating their customers."

"Turned on air conditioner and smelled like urine. Bugs in room. Bed made my skin itchy. Loud noise at night, people walking fast by room or running. Did not feel safe."

"Hotel Shattuck Plaza is perfectly located for a visit to UC Berkeley, less than a block away. I found everything about the hotel appealing, a nice mix of historic and modern. We had a fanaastic view from our room of the SF skyline and the golden gate bridge! The standout at the hotel was the staff. I especailly appreciate the young lady who checked us in, she made it so seemless and made sure the valet took care of our car, then greeted me by name throughout our stay. Looking forward to being a regular customer here when we come up to visit our daugther at college."

"I love this place. The luggage trolleys make a TON of noise, 24/7 as they run the halls, and there was construction, without disclosure, so it was not amazing as usual, but it's still a first class experience."

"You have to fight off a few roaches but after that you'll be ok. Also a dolly parten movie in a making the best little H*o house and Texas you'll be able to see in person the working girls. If that's your thing choose this hotel "

"Nice size room, but desk chair had little to no padding, felt like I was sitting on metal tubes. Large gap between entry door and jam; light from hallway lights could be seen. Had to call the front desk 4 times before I spoke to someone about how to connect to hotel's Wi-Fi network. "
