"The property is timber framed and old, really old. Cleanliness and condition is very good but this building needs constant maintenance. We loved it, it’s very old and full of history. "Beautiful room and en-suite in a lodge with four others, tucked away at the back of the garden. Very comfortable. Especially appreciated two armchairs, decent size fridge and small outside area with table and chairs. Evening meal in the pub was also excellent. Lovely beer garden and attentive hosts. We didn't have breakfast as making an early start but ordered a packed lunch which was very handy."

"Lovely grounds and dining area. Corridors in our accommodation block were somewhat shabby and in need of updating. Paint was peeling on the bathroom door. Double bed was standard rather than king. Room amenities were fine, suited our needs. Breakfast was more than adequate although there was a delay in replacing some hot food. Very convenient location."

"My go to hotel in the area because it is always friendly, nothing is too much trouble, clean and convenient place to stay. I rarely eat there, doing so with friends in the neighbourhood, which is why 4 stars not 5 but given the comments I hear from those who do I suspect 5 would be deserved."

The primary reason I chose this hotel over others in town was the spa, and I was quite disappointed to find that it was inaccessible to hotel guests. It proved very difficult to book either online or in person throughout my entire visit. Given that the location is a bit further out from the city center, the inability to use the spa facilities significantly impacted the value of my stay. I hope the hotel...

"AC! As it was the hottest day of the year in June. Well until the following day, where it was still 31C at 9pm in Hampshire. Pool good, if a little small, I think I absorbed most of the water through my skin!"

"We only stayed for one night but had a really lovely evening! The staff were very friendly, the pub/hotel have been recently refurbished and it's great. The rooms have everything you'd need, comfy bed, great shower, lovely lighting, loads of plugs! The bar and food was great. Overall really lovely and we'll stay again as we're often down to visit family."
