"The location of this hotel, a road or two behind the river front properties meant for excellent convenience. The rooms were very clean and matched expectations. The pool was nice, but disfuntionally organised witg the changing rooms being set back inside the hotel. The staff were super friendly and I would wholly consider stopping here again."

Carlton City Hotel Singapore

Carlton City Hotel Singapore

8/10 Good
"Excellent Room, Extremely Disappointing Breakfast Experience The hotel itself was very good. Our bedroom was modern, spacious, clean and well presented, and we were very pleased with the standard of the accommodation. The room was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the breakfast service, which was extremely disappointing and fell well below the standard we would expect from a hotel of this quality. The breakfast food was served cold, the presentation was poor, and the overall appearance of the buffet was extremely unappetising. The coffee was particularly poor and was not of an acceptable standard. The restaurant also appeared to be seriously understaffed, with tables and the buffet area not being properly attended to or maintained. What was particularly disappointing was the apparent lack of concern from the manager. Having raised our concerns, we felt that they were simply dismissed rather than taken seriously or addressed. A manager should be taking ownership of such issues, particularly when they are affecting guests’ overall experience. The breakfast experience was so poor that we chose not to return for breakfast for the remainder of our stay. That is a significant disappointment when breakfast is included as part of the hotel experience. It is a real shame because the hotel is nice. The rooms are modern and spacious but the breakfast operation and management of the restaurant requires improvement."

"Convenient is key to me. However, this hotel is getting old. Many of their hall ways when you step out of the elevators smell bad. Rooms are spacious. The shower heads are not flexible for females. I understand the rain forest shower heads are trendy, but not for female who doesn’t shampoos our long hair everyday. Improve on shower heads."

"A very clean, modern hotel. Our 13th floor bedroom had great views across the city and offered a firm, comfortable mattress and a powerful shower. Breakfast at Salt and Pepper offered an Asian inspired hot breakfast with plenty of choice, including a juice and coffee machine. The pool area was fantastic: a very large, clean pool with towels available. I also made use of the ironing facilities near the pool area. The Lavender MRT station was just a five minute walk around the corner, with most of the route under sheltered walkways, and buses departed directly opposite the hotel. Overall, a really enjoyable stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return."

"We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel was clean, tidy and well-maintained. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they were comfortable and more than adequate for a good night’s sleep. The beds were comfortable, which made coming back after a long day of exploring even better. The staff were absolutely amazing—friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is definitely one of the highlights, especially if you’re a food lover! There are so many great food options within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient to explore and eat your way around Singapore. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would happily rebook this hotel the next time we visit Singapore. Highly recommended!"
