"Breakfast on the beach was wonderful and the pools were amazing although there’s no. NO shade on any of the pools between 8am and 7 pm. The walk into town along the beach after sunset is great but don’t expect food like Georgetown or Taiping it’s very touristy and backpackery"

"This hotel has a fantastic location right across the street from the center of the main beach. Rooms are basic but clean. Right next to a small local mall with a lot of decent restaurants and some drug stores. Only drawback is it gets noisy at night sometime, although it all dies off by around midnight. Definitely easy to recommend to those who want a good location at a reasonable price. Cheers all."

"Everything was excellent but something worth considering is the practice of guests who put towels and a book on the sun beds before breakfast to hold a space by the pool or by the seaside. We watched people put their towel down and sunscreen then go off sight seeing for three hours and returning to their beds. It is selfish and unfair when there is limited umbrella space with sunbeds. The hotel needs to somehow monitor and ban this selfish behaviour. "

"Our second visit to the Bayou hotel was just as good as the first. The staff were incredibly welcoming and again we were given vouchers for free welcome drinks. This time our room was larger and just as clean and well equipped. There is a basket of snacks and treats in each room, all free. "

"Friendly staff, clean and spacious room, great view of the ocean, the Intrix tap for potable water on demand, proximity to the beach, good enough gym, not too crowded place in Langkawi, near other restaurants. The cons: There were obvious signs of wear and tear in the room, e.g. the hairdryer that only has one setting (on or off via the power switch at the socket; all the buttons on the hairdryer no longer work), scuff marks on furniture, dirt on cushion for the deck chairs, and marks on the bed linen though they feel clean. The aircon could not be turned up higher even though there was a thermostat. I was freezing throughout the stay, but that is still better than suffering from heat. The breakfast selection was decent, but could have benefitted from more healthy options like yoghurt and more vegetables. The worst aspect was how the room did block mild and moderate noises but could not block loud noises. The room doors tend to slam shut very loudly and loud car noises can be heard too. So be prepared to be woken up intermittently when you're trying to sleep at night or trying to sleep in. Notwithstanding the cons, I had a pleasant stay. "

"The room 116 is in need of refurbishing. The bathroom is not safe due to the ground being drenched in water after a shower thus making it liable for injuries. The windows need to be cleaned on a regular basis. The staff are extremely helpful and did their utmost to provide all the necessary items needed. USB ports didn’t work and heated up. In room 115 the curtain ties were difficult to use because of loose fittings. The location is perfect for beach and shops."

"Booked this hotel 9 months before our stay, selected a superior room with balcony, when we arrived we were given a tiny room with no balcony or terrace. We went back to reception and complained and they gave us another room, it was better but not a great view, overlooked the coach park at the back. The pool area was ok, got sun most of the day but there are not enough sunbeds for the number of guests staying. People were placing towels on the beds to 'reserve' them while they went off for to have breakfast or to go shopping, this is so annoying. The gym was quite good, enough equipment to get a decent workout, but they didn't put clean towels out everyday. The room was very lacking in storage, one wardrobe with a few hangers, no shelves or drawers so had to live out of our suitcases as had nowhere to put clothes. Plus points, good location and quiet enough to get a good sleep. "
