"I wouldn't normally visit a zoo (been there, done that). But staying at Taronga was an opportunity to do something different, and for a good cause too. The staff and volunteers were wonderful, and the buffet breakfast was great too. Tip: Best views (koalas) are from rooms in buildings 1, 2 and 3. Buildings 4 and 5 have the kangaroos outside, but they seem to 'hide' most of the day. Shops and restaurants on Military Road are an easy 30-45 minute walk away (or take the frequent buses). Balmoral Beach is about an hour's walk away and great for swimming."
