"We had a standard room, queen bed. The room was quaint with a large bathroom. Very clean, unfortunately no balcony but the windows did open. The hotel is absolutely stunning (and if you’re an OG 007 fan, you’ll notice a few filming spots) it has a decent size pool and a lovely beach. We stayed from Thursday to Saturday and didn’t have any trouble securing a shaded chair, until Saturday afternoon, when it got busier. Short walk to explore downtown and to Junkanoo Beach, we ate at the Salty Crab and the cracked conch was amazing! The beach was very busy as it was Sat and a lot of people from the cruise ships spend their day there. Staff at the Colonial were so friendly! A huge perk was that we were able to store our bags for the day and still had access to their beach! "

"Our stay at the Marina Tower was fine, but overall the resort feels dated and lacks anything truly memorable. What we liked: * Renaissance Island is the highlight. It’s beautiful, with calm, clear water and plenty of tropical fish. We had several great beach days there. * The boat rides to the island were a fun touch. The drivers were consistently friendly and added to the experience. * The renovated marina pool area feels modern and well done. * Housekeeping was excellent. Our room was cleaned thoroughly and consistently without disruption. What we disliked: * Food on Renaissance Island is underwhelming, and service is extremely slow. The resort would benefit from simple, quick “beach food” options. * The push for reusable water bottles feels poorly executed. There are no self-service refill stations on the island or at the marina, and some staff make refilling water unnecessarily difficult. * There is a surprising lack of ice cream anywhere on the property. No stand by the pools or on the island feels like a missed opportunity. * Service overall was inconsistent. Some staff went above and beyond, while others were noticeably rude. Checkout at the front desk was especially disappointing. * We were never given a schedule of resort activities at check-in and only discovered them toward the end of our stay."

"I’m giving Riu’s Paradise Palm on Paradise Island just one star. The service was disappointingly average, and staff lacked genuine friendliness toward guests. The rooms were mediocre at best—old furniture, stained sheets, and worn-out beds. Shockingly, you couldn’t even take a simple burger down to the beach—an odd and frustrating rule. The pool area was visibly run-down as well. For such a pricey stay, the overall experience was far below expectations. The only saving grace was the food in the restaurants. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend it."

"The view from our room was amazing. We purchased water view and the view was beautiful (ocen wing building, 6th floor, room 6322. The room is basic but clean and remodeled. I liked that there are hardwood floors instead of carpet. The only problem (not property fault) was that after 2 nights a loud group of guys checked in above our room. I understand that people come to party but this was a vandalism not a party. Luckily security guards addressed the situation but next nights they were loud too but not as bad as the first. Coral is affordable so maybe more young people book it to party. If it wasn’t for that, I definitely recommend the Coral. "

"BAD: Our first full day we had jack hammering/construction beside and one floor down from our room. We could not enjoy our room from 8 to 5 because of the noise. Upon complaint, they were in no hurry to compensate. We had to speak to them 4 times and finally got a $100 credit at the end of the stay. NOTE: If you get breakfast included, make sure they take it off your bill at the end. They handed me a bill and then said "oh yes, I will take that off right now." It felt really shady. GOOD: The cleaning staff did a GREAT job in the rooms. The aquarium was wonderful."
