Disappointment in Brugge
We received no information on how to check in until I called after having to hunt down the phone number because the one on hotels.com was disconnected and got the code to enter the house less than 24 hours prior to our arrival. Requested parking and received no information about parking had to find our own parking once we arrived. Sent multiple messages on the hotels'com website but never received response. Apartment is a nice sized space and could be wonderful but has seen better days - hole in the sofa, all of the furniture is stained, looks dirty, plaster peeling on the walls, parts of the floor are soft and the beams underneath need to be replaced. There were plenty of mosquitos and other small bugs infesting the tub and sink. I know the ad says rustic - i would say in dis-repair. We woke up the next morning to no hot water which was fixed by the afternoon. We woke up Sunday morning and breakfast was not ready until 0900 and the internet was out. When we came back from our tour Sunday afternoon at 1400, breakfast items were still on the table including the milk for cereal and for coffee. Monday morning there was no breakfast at all - we waited until 9 when we had to leave to travel back home. Rooms left dirty from guests who had left the day prior. Not child friendly - on 3rd floor with low windows and no bars or screens. Great location close to everything. External picture shown is of private residence and not the B&B which is misleading.

Response from Dominique on 12 Sept 2021
Dear Robertha, Thank you for your feedback. So sorry to read your review. On the one hand side I nearly do not recognise any of the things you describe, on the other hand I have to admit that you came on ‘Murphy-weekend’. First I went on a last-minute mission to work at a refugee camp. Secondly the lady who cleans the house (and was kindly taking care of the breakfast) got a message that her father was dying and understandably left for her country. Thirdly my son came over with a friend to help but was not properly briefed. All this to say I am really sorry for the hazzle you had to go through. I really would have loved to help you out on the spot myself. What can I do to repair this? Best wishes from Bruges. Dominique.

Lovely, proper Belgium property, that has been a family house for over 200 hundred years. It has undergone a sensitive make over to allow half the House to be used as a B&B. Our room was big, wooden floor boards, shutters comfortable beds with a seperate sizeable shower / toilet. I loved it. Our host was friendly and helpful with a continental style breakfast provided every morning in a big period style living / dining area. The front of the house (inside) was a little dark, the back was where all the light and colour was. If you want to experience how the wealthy of past days lived, this is a place to book 😊

Lovely and cozy
We really enjoyed ourselves and our first stay in Bruges. The hotel has an old-world vibe to it, and has been preserved well. Breakfast was great and the staff/owners are helpful and friendly, ready to give good advice for the city. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Not satisfied
We didn't know we should get in the door with code and we did't get the code so we waited outside until someone living next door opened the door for us. In addition, the condition of the old property was not good. Besides, we've got so many mosquito bites. Breakfast lacked variety, too.

Historical setting in Bruges
Great historical character, accommodating host, perfect location for exploring Bruges. Only complaint was the lack of hot water, and the number of stairs might be difficult for some. We loved it though. So much better than a sterile, modern hotel. Good breakfast. I would like to see a curtain added on the window in the door separating bathroom & bedroom. (blue stripe room)

Property is old and very quaint. Floors are very rough and uneven, which was fine for us it could be an issue for some. Well located. Generally quiet neighborhood, which meant when someone was loud outside you really heard it. It was hot when we visited and the beds have only heavy comforters on them, which made sleeping hard. As with most places in Europe there were no screens on the windows and we got eaten alive by mosquitos. A fan in each of the bedrooms and the living room would have been nice. Our apartment had a kitchen but it’s not well stocked - not even coffee for the coffee pot. The bathroom was off the kitchen, a separate toilet and then sink and shower - both spaces were quite small. There were only 2 hand towels for 4 people and the shower didn’t function well - the hand held shower head kept falling off. There was a decent binder for the town and the breakfast was Contintenal but had choices. We also didn’t hear other guest except when they walked right by our door.

TWO NIGHTS AND A DAY IN BRUGES
Our stay in Bruges was everything we had hoped. Taking Rick Steves’s advice, we booked two nights, giving us a full day to explore the city. La Maison Zenasni was conveniently located, yet on a quiet street. The bonus was being near the Belgian Pigeon House, one of the best restaurants we have ever enjoyed in Europe.

Nice historic building close to the Markt, but located in a quiet cental area. My family took the 2 bedroom suite which was large. They also offer a continental breakfast with bread, cheeses, jams, coffee, tea, etc. Great place!

The location was great. Check in was odd., beacause no one is there and you just follow email instructions. We had a difficult time locating the B&B, besuse there is no sign on the front and the picture on the website is of the back court yard you never see.

Small b&b handy for the centre of brugges. We were in the blue room. Shower in there a little awkward as over the bath and tended to leak through shower curtain. Bed comfy. Breakfast was a good sweet spread.

Traditional so don’t expect high end finishes
Great location just off the bustling centre and walking distance from most of the major tourists attractions. We stayed in the White suite BIS as it’s known, large open living area / kitchen and 2 separate bedrooms including a large bathroom...great for the the kids. At €200 a night it’s about right, we were there during the April school holidays from a Fri-Sun but don’t expect high end finishes in the property as it’s “rustic” with squeaky wooden floors; no double glazing (which means you can hear people talking / singing in the street like we did at 2am on Sat night!) and the bathroom needs updating. It’s well equipped but lacks small things like good quality towels; a large bin in the kitchen; curtains in the bathroom etc. The breakfast is adequate (continental style) and included in your stay. Overall a nice place to stay for a short weekend and despite the niggles we would consider staying there again in future.

Brilliant In Bruges
La Maison Zenasni is such a beautiful and fantastic place to stay. The location is perfect. The house is no more than 5ish minutes walk to the main square but tucked down a quiet side street. The hosts are friendly and helpful and I couldn’t recommend this B&B enough. I didn’t want to leave

Our stay was good but only because we spent as little time at the hotel. The room was lovely and large. Unfortunately for us there was no kettle in the room, we also managed to flood the bathroom due to the lack of wall fixing for shower and bath very narrow so curtains clung to you as you moved. Breakfast wasn't for us. We felt we couldn't relax being sat with other residents at the same table.

This was one of the most charming, friendliest hotels I’ve stayed in. My two friends and I booked the room for a weekend based on location and cute pictures. Well as soon as we opened the door we were taken aback and felt like we were entering a mansion from long ago. From the authentic rooms to the morning breakfast we could not have asked for a better stay. The room was spacious, more like we were in a big apartment, the daily breakfast delicious, the staff and owner beyond helpful and courteous, clean, and located on a quiet street yet only steps to the middle of everything in Bruges. I will definitely be back!

Top for location and atmosphere.
Great location, good accommodation, great continental breakfast presented on a large table, where we sat and ate with the other guests; great for swapping experiences and picking up tips. Whilst the street was not a busy street, sound from outside could easily be heard, therefore not for light sleepers.

Beautiful Stay in Brugge
Our stay at La Maison Zenasni exceeded expectations. Our family of four was more than comfortable in our accommodations, the White Room apartment. It was just the right amount of rustic-luxury and quite cozy. The breakfast was fresh, local, and perfect. Delicious coffee, too! Location was great, walked from train station and too all the sites. Would highly recommend and will return when in Brugge again!

Lovely family run B&B : charming
We had a lovely stay in this charming family run B&B. Close to the centre of Bruges, but far enough out to be quiet. Beautiful old house, with a lovely breakfast each morning. Beautifully Renovated Comfortable B&B
We stayed three nights at La Maison Zenasti, close to the Burg and Market Square in Bruges. We were assigned a two-bedroom suite with living room, full kitchen and bath. Zenasti is a beautifully renovated 17th Century church that has all modern conveniences, while maintaining the rustic charm of the original building (exposed beams, windows that open, hardwood floors). It is situated very close to Bruges' Market Square (5-minute walk) on a quiet residential street. There are beautiful gardens in the rear of the building. Breakfast was quite good.

A beautiful house full of character, a great host
We stayed here for 2 nights during the October school break. I'm so glad we did. For the four of us including our 2 girls, the white suite was perfect. Separate bedrooms with a lovely kitchen and tidy living room. "Every morning the breakfast is different" - the other guests told us; they were right. We loved breakfast here with fresh coffee, pastries, homemade cake, fresh bread, etc. The house is stunning, with highest ceilings and wonderful original features. The dining room with its enormous oval window looking out onto the rear garden is a special delight. We were made to feel very welcome and the host was more than helpful. When we come back to Bruges, we will certainly stay here again.

Perfect romantic setting in a beautiful city
The house was beautiful, opulent and yet homely, our room was the smallest there but still more space than we could ever need and wish for, breakfast was perfect, and the staff we're extremely friendly and helpful.
