"This was our 2nd stay when visiting Portsmouth for gigs. The hotel team are always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is always good with good selection of fruits and juices to compliment ( if you actually have room). Free parking on a 1st come basis. All in all a great place to stay when in Pompey!"

"We had a Premier plus room on the hottest day. It was cool with dark curtains and we had the best sleep. The staff worked so hard and were incredibly helpful.
Unfortunately there was a lift out of action so that made queues but everything else was really good including the location."

"We picked this place at random online, coming in from a 10 day cruise to Southampton. Booking online sight unseen is always a gamble, but this time we hit the jackpot. Totally charming English countryside inn, fantastic food, stunning rooms, very comfy pub, and amazing staff. I'd be remiss if I didn't single out Kate and Tahir, who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I can't recommend this place highly enough!"

"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful
We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!!
If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be...

We had a very warm welcome on arrival
Check in was quick and easy
We were shown to our room (10) the man made polite conversation.
The room was a good size but very dated like staying at your grandma’s. The room was very clean, the towels were white, clean and soft. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. There is ample free parking. Overall a good stay for one night."

"We only stayed for one night but had a really lovely evening! The staff were very friendly, the pub/hotel have been recently refurbished and it's great. The rooms have everything you'd need, comfy bed, great shower, lovely lighting, loads of plugs! The bar and food was great. "The positives were the airy room and lovely garden. The big negative was the buffet breakfast which they proudly claim to be award-winning. The reality is that for a 4 star hotel, the quality and range of options was extremely poor. Too many short cuts and cost cutting. The veggie options were limitd and not displayed on the tables and there were no extras (eg crushed avocado) even if you were willing to pay a bit extra. There was no fruit yogurt in individual pots and no higher quality healthy...
