Hotels near Asakusa Shrine

"The hotel location is ideal for taking the subway around Tokyo, with an entrance across the street. There is a nice park along the river with cherry trees and a playground only a couple blocks away. The breakfast was very good with no wait early in the morning. The combo washer/dryer in the laundry room does not dry clothes within the default washing/drying time (2.5 hours), so be prepared to add more time (no idea how much is needed) or hang clothes all over your room. There are a lot of clothes hangers provided, which I suspect might be for that intended purpose. We booked two rooms with a king bed each for our family of 4, with kids aged 10 and 7 each bed sharing with one parent (we often do this at home too, so pretty normal for us), and it was great. The beds are firm, which we like. The rooms benefit from luggage fitting under the bed."

"The room is good and spacious. I like that they allow guests using the breakfast area for light snacks and chatting during non-breakfast hours. Breakfast is ok. Hotel location is good."

"I booked the hotel 3 months early, that time my child is 12 years old, so I booked a room which allows 2 adults and 1 child to stay in. However, by the time we arrived at the hotel, my child just turned into 13 and the staff said the room was not suitable for us, but all other rooms were fully booked. We were disappointed with this system, this is too tricky because the child is actually 2-3 months difference on age, the figure and height stay the same, if a 12-year old child can fit in the room, why a 13-year-old not fit? I’d rather book a room with 3 adults, hope this can be fixed next time. "

"AVH was a welcome surprise! Staff whisked us from the taxi to check in and to our room in minutes. Everything was better than we expected."

"Excellent location, very walkable and easy to get to Asakusa Station to get around Tokyo. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were upgraded and clean. Beds and pillows comfortable. As two adults with three suitcases and two backpacks, we had just enough room to move about comfortably in our two-bed room."

"Overall the hotel was pretty dirty. The elevators smelled like piss and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The room was a little better, but it was still a little on the dusty side. The true downside to this hotel was the fact that the bed was stiff as a board, we were only provided one rock hard pillow for the each of us, and there was no refrigerator in our room. Every other hotel we stayed at in Japan (over a dozen of them) gave at least two pillows and an in-room refrigerator. We won’t be coming back here"
