"The hotel itself was average and clean, the kids were happy because they mainly wanted to enjoy the pool and the sea — and those needs were met. What really affected our stay, though, was how we were treated by some of the staff. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced this before in parts of the Caribbean, and it’s disappointing every time. There were moments where we were clearly ignored in ways that others were not. For example, the beach staff refused to set up an umbrella and chairs for us, telling us to find an existing one at the back, while other guests were being set up right at the front by the water. I needed to be near the shoreline so I could watch my kids safely, but that courtesy wasn’t extended to us. Similarly, spa staff walked around offering menus to everyone except us. We had actually planned to book treatments, but after being overlooked like that, we decided not to. Despite these experiences, we absolutely LOVE St. Maarten — the island itself is wonderful, and we always enjoy being there. It’s just disappointing when moments like these take away from what should be a joyful visit, especially given that the Caribbean is my own heritage and yet I’m made to feel unwelcome while enjoying the progress we’ve all worked hard for."

"The pool area had plenty of lounge chairs, and the music was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. When the safe in my room started making a buzzing noise, maintenance fixed it very quickly."

"This resort is situated in a beautiful location. The beach is AMAZING. Unfortunately, the resort does not offer a lot of structured activities, so if that's what you're looking for, this may not be the place for you. The buffet restaurant was just okay, but the al fresco dining options are good. The tiles in and around the pools need attention, as does various painting around the resort. "

"My fiancé and I stayed here back in the end of February. I chose Fourteen at Mullet Bay based on the reviews and I must say I was a little disappointed. The pictures online looked way better than in person and there was a horrible smell in the unit that we could not get rid of at all. We complained to management but there weren’t any other available units. We were told that since we booked through Expedia we would have to complain to Expedia. I feel like since we booked through Expedia we did not get one of the nicer units because the unit we stayed in wasn’t as nice as some of the others that we saw. Maybe it was the one unit that we stayed in but I was not impressed with Fourteen at Mullet Bay."

"The room was clean and staff polite. There was a leak in my bedroom ceiling that just wasn’t quite fixed and water dripped and ceiling pieces fell all week. Property and beach nice though "

"The pool is a big draw. The property is maintained well and everyone is friendly. Everything definitely runs on „island-time“, so just remember that you are on a vacation and have plenty of time. I personally did not enjoy the quite loud life music (of questionable quality) at one of the two restaurants of the property. The adjacent beach is currently swamped with seaweeds and therefore unusable but that is just a temporary condition. Overall, a great stay! "
