"Not our first stay at this hotel. Nice setting by the river. Clean and secure. Perfect location as only a short walk into city centre. Wi-Fi has improved which is good. Breakfast was average, full English wasn’t very hot but sausages were very tasty. Would definitely stay here again. "

"Cashed in some one key points for night away . Took the scenic route from Gateshead and visited Richmond , Aysgarth Falls , Grassington and Thirsk on the way . Had a couple of beers in the beer garden , freshened up then a gorgeous meal in the orangery. So glad we had booked as they were turning people away ! The staff were excellent- friendly , courteous and attentive. Lovely relaxing night away , helped by the English heatwave ."

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"All of the staff were wonderful. My father has some mobility issues and the receptionist noticed this and switched our room for one on the ground floor, all before I could ask. The room was spotless and quiet, couldn't ask for more."
