"Gorgeous hotel in beautiful Yorkshire. Our 3 day stay was wonderful. Large comfy rooms with huge bed. Modern bathroom with walk in shower. Garden was perfect to sit in, with a cosy summerhouse. Breakfast was stunning - local produce, even down to the apple juice produced from their own orchard. Honey and jams all very local too, as were the ingredients of the cooked breakfasts. Bar stocks local beers and spirits. Andrew and Lucinda are perfect hosts. "

"Lovely place, beautiful food and a really nice room and ambience. But what really made this place was the wonderful warm staff. The lady on arrival was really welcoming, the girl looking after us for food was very attentive and the gentleman who welcomed us at breakfast was delightful. "All good! Room lovely and clean with a great view of the sea; breakfast was lovely too - pancakes with maple syrup (and or bacon if you chose) along with other choices. Because of the weather we didn’t end up taking our dog but saw many there and it’s lovely and dog friendly. A nice quiet room at the back for a chat and a drink and we enjoyed an evening meal there too"

"Hotel rooms were, perhaps, typical of an older hotel, decorations a bit tired - as were carpets - but adequate. Our first room had a large stain on the bathroom ceiling which the staff identified and arranged our move to a bigger and better room. This really impressed us because it didn't require any complaining from us. Quite how it should be. All in all the staff were excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. We would certainly visit again."
