Overlooking the sea. Excellent breakfast, best thing about the hotel. Last stayed at this hotel three years ago. Since then we noticed a big change in the hotel, especially the decoration and prices in the bar. Had a latte and half a pint of beer, cost £9.00 in cash!!!!! Was it pocketed or was I charged for one pint instead of half a pint?

The hotel was clean with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are dated but have everything you need for the price.
Breakfast was very good yoghurt, fruit, seeds etc and a full English.
Spa area dated and could do with some updating but great small pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and ice cave.
Will stay there again.

Check in on arrival was good, staff were friendly.
Unfortunately there was a problem with firsty no hot water on the first morning and then water was a dribble from the taps and shower on the second morning recessed it was just an issue on the 5th floor.
Window in the room did not lock so kept blowing open in the wind all night.
Hotel room was nice a big and clean.

Lack of kitchen facilities on 23rd March was disappointing but managed by customer facing staff reasonably well. The hotel facilities are looking tired (eg fireplace in lounge covered in dust and fluff). Opportunities missed to champion Yorkshire produce (food, drink, souvenirs, Newspapers etc) at what could be Yorkshire Coasts premier hotel. Our first return visit since Covid and somewhat disappointed. Would be happy to speak with Management if they are interested in Customer feedback.

Rather rambling corridors and stairs between numbers on the same floor a little difficult for people of limited mobility

Management absent. I was asked to email rather than talking to a person.
Wouldn’t recommend this hotel nor visit again.
I suggest a spot visit by undercover compass decent person to realign your place. I’ll continue to email reviews until you call me back.
116room has lovely new decor but 114 looks tired with old traditional furniture in it which should be got rid of as it brings the whole feel of the room down and with the size of the room I think a bigger bed would make a good statement in there .. breakfast was ok but more seeds and fruit would be nice .

To whom this may concern,
I am writing to let you know of my experience whilst staying at your hotel and my concerns.
I booked a twin room and on entering the room the bed was a double which I had to go to reception and advise that this had not been done . The receptionist said she would get this sorted . Sometime later a young man came from the restaurant to make the bed up and he did say that the hotel is short staffed. This I thought was bad communication from the staff that the bed wasn't made up which I found it to be an inconvenience to myself and having to interrupt a member of staff in the restaurant.
The television was absolutely awful to watch as the signal was dreadful and I could see that people had been trying to move the aerial because of the marks on the wall .
Room service was absolutely terrible as I had to call down to get someone up to sort my room . The lady that arrived said she was running behind as she had 3 floors to do surely this is a staffing problem yet again .
Wanted to order cocktails on New Year's Eve however the girl behind the bar said the person that does them isn't in and she said that she didn't know how to do them nor the other people. It was New Year's Eve I couldn't believe that they were no staff member to attend to this . Yet again a staff problem.
The worst part of my stay was parking my car . I had paid for reserved parking. I had gone out on New Year's Eve and on my return to the car park all the spaces had been taken .

The hotel was nice, but needs improving in some areas. The room had nice fittings, but the bathroom window needed replacing.
The sauna and steam room area has a very "seedy" feeling, with almost no lighting meaning you risk sitting on someone. The sound of passionate kissing in the darkness when you're trying to relax is quite off-putting too! The pool was quite cold, and the hot-tub wasn't as hot as you'd expect.
The gym is very well equipped, although quite confusing due to how it's split across many rooms in the basement.
The shower needed urgent attention, going from freezing to burning your skin with a slight movement of the tap, it was impossible to get it to a comfortable temperature.
The buffet breakfast was well stocked, but a fairly poor quality.
As someone sensitive to caffeine, I get annoyed when I get directed to the cheap packets of instant next to the fancy bean to cup coffee machines in the breakfast area. I raised this feedback with reception who showed no interest whatsoever.

Room was very neglected, both room & bathroom windows wouldn't fully shut so constant noise & cold draughty room, bathroom door didn't fully close so not much privacy, we booked purely for the spa facilities as my partner is disabled so this would have been ideal but when we checked in we were told the spa facilities weren't available until the 2nd of Jan , we were very disappointed by this & weren't even in a position to cancel our stay because we would have lost our full payments, we did get complimentary breakfasts but the food was so greasy & bacon was so fatty , over cooked infact it was that bad its debatable if it was fit for human consumption, the prices they charged us i think it was a very poor situation, we complained on our way out to reception but weve not had any communication from the management, on a plus the staff tried their best.

Exceptionally poor stay at a place we’d stayed at several times before. The room was tired to the point it shouldn’t even be given to guests in its current state. Upon attempting to check in there were two staff members talking amongst themselves meaning we were stood with heavy bags for several minutes until they wrapped up their conversation. When discussing parking the receptionist didn’t know whether there would be an attendant checking or not so I decided to be safe and immediately put the disc in the car. The parking disc used to be adequate but you now also need to pay £5 for two days parking however it didn’t even cover 48 hours. Got to the room and upon opening the drawers there was a half eaten pizza in one of them. I went down to reception to give them the food remnants and inform them of this and was told sorry housekeeping must have missed it. I was really surprised considering it was the same person we had just checked in with 5 minutes previously did not offer any kind of gesture of apology. There were brown stains on the ceiling from previous leakage, the wallpaper was peeling, the tv did not work on several channels and the room above us were talking at such a volume it was practically shouting until gone midnight. The extractor fan in the bathroom was thick with dust and when wiping up water from the bathroom floor the towel turned brown.
