"Our room was on a ridge and directly faced Lock 7, which was just across the Welland Canals Parkway. From our balcony, we were treated to a truly excellent view of the ships and pleasure boats navigating between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
They were simply amazing in both size and number, including Lakers and Salties -- a variety of bulk carriers and cargo ships -- even a "Frankenship"! Our overnight stay demonstrated the importance of the Seaway system and the supply chains that depend on...

"Comfortable beds, lots of pillows and towels. Linens clean. Room was quiet even though there was no vacancy that night. Corners of rooms obviously skipped by cleaners. Needs some TLC.
Only one accessible plug near the beds. So even though it’s a room meant for 4 people, only one thing could be plugged in. So either my CPAP or my charger, not both. There was no alarm clock either.
Breakfast was good with lots of food available but it was busy when we were there around 830am and no place for us...

"WHAT a discovery! I loved my stay at Canalside -- the room was beautifully updated, but still had those historic squeaky wooden floors that remind everyone to be a little quieter (it worked!). The coffee maker produced great morning joe; the shower got hot almost immediately; the bed linens were soft and the towels were a perfect blend of absorbent and scratchy. "The property is 6 cottages within a separate resort. The resort for families is great. Falcon Cottages are not. We were put in a filthy cottage basically a mobile. Stained couch and dining chairs, broken blinds. Dried up food down the back of the counter and chairs. I went to use a baking pan only to find it full of grease.
