"The location is absolutely breathtaking nestled in the heart of the Lake District, easy access to stunning walks. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Food was particularly good, impressive. "What a great hotel. The staff were really friendly and the public areas and the rooms decorated to a very high standard. My wife used the spa and had a massage which she really enjoyed. Personally I think the outside of the hotel could do with an update but that in no way detracts from what is delivered inside. "

"Good location. Room was small but perfectly adequate and with nice bathroom. Lake view was not great - large flat room in front of us. Nice gardens on the edge of the lake. The Waterhead Inn next door had a great team working there, more friendly. We ate there and that was very good. Easy to walk into Ambleside, no need to drive which is a huge bonus. Lovely countryside and walks."

"Location is great. Staff are very helpful, breakfast is excellent and lots of choice. We had a superior room at the Windermere Rooms. I expected a better view/facilities for the cost, rooms were very warm but could be easily fixed by turning the radiators down. Floor in the bedroom was slightly uneven which didn’t affect the stay but something I didn’t expect for the price of the room. I would definitely stay again but probably wouldn’t pay for a superior room."

"We were very pleasantly surprised on arriving at the Boutique Hotel. We were warmly greeted with a glass of Prosecco. Our suite was so much better than we had expected.
