"Room temp is controlled at the front desk. Our room was sweltering upon arrival and sought advice at the desk to learn that they actually control the temp. Shower was out of body wash. Water leaked from the shower into the open floor area and we blocked with a towel. Bed was good. Room was clean. Shower was good. Breakfast buffet was good. Bar was good. Water bus station right across the street was very convenient."

"The hotel is new and beautifully done. It’s in a nice location away from the crowds in San Marco Piazza. The customer service at the hotel was poor, they didn’t care. We were jet lagged and overslept one of the days when our alarm did not go off. We missed breakfast and they even refused to give us a cup of coffee. They also charge 15 Euros for a water shuttle which is crazy since everyone takes the shuttle since that’s the only way to get to the hotel. Overall, disappointed by the poor...

"The rooms were spacious, elegant and clean. Modern design, and quiet. The location was a 2 minute walk from Santa Lucia train station. It cancels the need for expensive water taxi, or crowded vaporetto, or labored walking with heavy luggage through narrow streets, up and down the steps of the bridges , to get to the hotel. "We found this to be a great location for our daily excursions. Our room overlooked a canal and had taxi and bus stops right outside. We enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Venice and felt we were in the pulse of the city. We loved waking to the sounds of the city coming alive. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. "I really don't understand the positive reviews. The Alloggi Olimpia is "part of" the Hotel Olimpia but really not. There is no lift to room. Once you take the hotel olimpia elevator you have to go down weird back stairs and hallways that stench of trash. It was so bad I felt sick to my stomach walking to and from the room. "Excellent location for getting on, off and around the islands….close to ALL modes of transportation. The staff were EXCELLENT. The European split king mattress is aweful! Plenty of USB ports and power. Room lighting is awkward but the bathroom night light is good. Breakfast is confusing but if you are hungry get the “full breakfast” and order whatever you want…. Once you figure out what they have, it’s very good. The TVs are a little dated but bring a HDMI and you can tap into the screen...
