" A long and bumpy ride up to the lodge. As soon as you check in they force you to pay for breakfast as you are disoriented and tired from the ride. You are told you are not allowed to decide in the morning if you are even hungry. Paid for two for breakfast. In the morning only one could eat breakfast because the other was sick. "We had an amazing time at Buena Vista Eco lodge. We stayed in the cabins and it was such a clean and cute accommodation. The buffet breakfast was excellent, we couldn’t have asked for more. We ate at both the Jaguar and the Mirador restaurant, the Jaguar had a wider selection and the food was delicious, while the Mirador is lighter fare but with stunning views of the country side and sunset. "The pool at Borinquen is surrounded by trees and is set kind of in a valley and in the afternoons between 3-5 you could start to see the branches moving on the trees and all of a sudden, you would start to see monkeys swinging from branch to branch. Mama monkeys carrying their baby monkeys, monkeys "fighting", eating, just going about their day. It was absolutely amazing. That was when the spider monkeys came out. If the howler monkeys were there you would hear them coming up the valley around...

"Cute little hotel in downtown Liberia. It's pretty basic but clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. After our flight was cancelled on a Saturday evening, we ended up at El Cerro along with many others from the flight. The staff worked hard to get everyone settled, gave us late night dinner options, and booked cabs back to the airport for the morning. So grateful to the wonderful front desk person on Sat March 21!"

"Nice room with perfectly renovated bathroom (I had #2). Good air condition and bed. Perfect for a quick early morning drive to the airport. Nice surroundings but close to main thoroughfare and restaurants and just across from downtown. (I brought a sleeping pill to sleep through the moderate street noise). Coffee available in lobby, nice surroundings and friendly bilingual personal, easy check in. Great value, recommended! "
