I loved sitting in the rocking chair listening to the man-made waterfall, discovering the rock path with jaw dropping beauty at every turn and enjoying the refreshing pool. The hosts are amazing as well! They truly love showing the place. Breakfast was fantastic and they were so gracious to give us seconds on smoothies. "The staff worker at check in was extremely helpful and kind. She went out of her way to be helpful. The grounds are beautiful. Nice large pool. Big rooms with pool patios by each room. There is a lot of road noise in the front of hotel but that is to be expected since it’s on a major road. It was nice to have a restaurant on site."

"I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. And don't forget about breakfast. Everyday, we had homemade to order...
