I cannot recommend it enough! Our only wish was that we stayed longer. The breakfast was phenomenal, the service was excellent. We had to leave early to catch a tour and they moved breakfast an hour ahead for us. We got in late and Pablo was up waiting for us and greeted us, gave us a tour, and just got to know us. We will absolutely be here again.
Only note: you do need 4WD to get here if it’s been raining, at least if you’re coming from Rincon
The owners and staff were very accommodating and helpful. They have an excellent tour about their cacao production. The property is beautiful and well maintained.
Pablo and Ana have a fantastic setup
THe stay was great, the property was beautiful and Ana and Pablo were amazing hosts. We stayed one night but had time to go on a hike and have a beautiful view at the top. Recommended for an adventure and immersion in nature.
What an authentic and beautiful place with the most genteel, charming and gracious hosts! Several forest walking paths and an orange tree outside the cottage with a never-ending stream of varied bird life to watch. And chocolate factory on site - very interesting.
We had a fabulous two days at Finca La Anita. Pablo and Ana were fabulous hosts and we truly enjoyed learning from their knowledge of all things Costa Rican, especially the history and quality of chocolate and coffee. We stayed in cabin 8 which was comfortably rustic with a refrigerator. We found the temperature in mid Feb to be approx 10 degrees C cooler than the coast. Travel by SUV is best as the road is quite rough at times. The home cooked meals were authentic, yummy and filling. We loved both the peacefullness, the nature and the birds at Finca La Anita.
Many thanks Pablo and Ana, we are already looking forward to our next visit.
Staying at La Anita was an amazing experience for my mom and I. Pablo and Ana are amazing hosts who take a personal interest in all their guests. The food was delicious and the grounds of the ranch are beautifully taken care of. It was nice to stay in the jungle and feel disconnected but still stay in a clean and safe environment. Beware of the roads on the way to the ranch, they can be a bit challenging. And be careful to not accidentally let bugs in your room at night, shut the door quickly! Overall, we enjoyed La Anita very much and highly recommend it to others.
Staying at La Anita Rainforest Ranch was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We stayed for three nights and had an incredible experience. The hospitality of Pablo and Anna are unmatched; we felt so welcome and taken care of during our stay. The food was phenomenal, with a menu of fresh local foods that changed daily. Everything was very clean and taken care of. The property offers plenty to explore, and the lack of WiFi in the cabins makes it easy to unplug and enjoy the company of your companions. We HIGHLY reccomend the cacao tour- it was very informative and changed our perspective on chocolate and the industry at large.
The ranch will forever hold a special place in our hearts!
This place is perfection in so many ways: the grounds are impeccable and just like you see them in the pictures. Few, if any, mosquitos. Cool high elevation air. The cabins are large, quiet, private and have mini refrigerators along with quiet surroundings and great privacy.
Above all, owner/operator Pablo is charming, nice, attentive, but also lets you have your space. Everything you ask for, you get that same day! For example, our shower head was broken, but still just fine. It was fixed by the time we got back from hiking that afternoon!
There were hammocks and comfortable chairs on the private deck of the huts.
Just a very quiet, calm, familial stay in what felt like a very upscale resort. Pablo made it feel like we were staying with a friend of the family!
This place is very highly recommended and could be a relaxing destination of its own. Just know that it is almost two hours to the Rincon de la Viejo national parks; but very well worth it (beautiful drive too).
Dinner is at 6 pm. (traditional Costa Rican food: some veggies, some potatoes or rice, and some meat - ask ahead of time if you have other desires). A very fulfilling breakfast is served around 7.30.
Upon request or if time allows; see the on-site chocolate factory! Don't miss the cocoa nibs for breakfast or in the nice store! Enjoy.
Staff was great. Dinner was amazing, sea bass with homemade pesto. Room was nice with comfortable bed. It was just late by the time we got our car rental. The road getting there is tough. Be prepared for a bumpy ride. Owner is kind and told us about the chocolate production on premises.
The owner Pablo was an excellent host and the Chocolate Tour and tasting was phenomenal. Learned so much about cacao. Massage and meals were great too! Highly recommend LaAnita
I loved our cabin very much. My only suggestion would be to have mattress covers under the fitted sheets. Sleeping almost directly on a mattress is not very hygienic. There should be a barrier between the mattress and the fitted sheet that can be removed and sanitized.
Our stay at La Anita was the highlight of our two week trip traveling throughout Costa Rica. Pablo, the owner, is a superb and gracious host who pays the utmost attention to every minute detail. We were shown impeccable hospitality and made to feel welcomed and extremely comfortable. The chocolate tour was over the top!
Sehr Empfehlenswert !
