"Travelling on my own - checked in and was given the key to someone else room - so walked into someone else's room! As a solo traveler this made me nervous about staying in case it happened to my room. Was told i would be offered compensation - never was - ended up barricading myself in my room at night and had a terrible night sleep. All i got was sorry to hear that and asked to give my email. Terrible service and would not recommend for a Would not stay here again as a solo travller which is a shame as its great location. If you were staying in room 459 on Wednesday 13th May i have a photo fo the inside of you rrom that i took as evidence"

"Beautiful hotel, staff were amazing, given a complimentary upgrade which was lovely. Pool and sauna were not available which was disappointing and the hotel does not have parking again with the amount you’re paying you’d think these would be available."

"The hotel is basic but clean and comfortable. The elevators are very efficient. Room was large and bed was comfortable. In general the staff members were helpful - varying from not knowing how to work an adapter to Florian who came up to the room to help. Supposedly maintenance was to show up to help but never did. Another staff member was very helpful with the underground. Only one towel in the room when we arrived. Overall we had a pleasant stay and we would stay here again."

"Comfortable hotel with car parking in a good location for getting around London as Paddington Station is just a short walk away. Would stay again if we were to visit London."

"Well placed and the biggest room I’ve had in London. Comfy bed and pillows. The elevator situation is a challenge. Two of the elevators are down (out of a bank of four) so it’s a long wait. "

"The Cumberland was a decent hotel overall. The bed was somewhat comfortable, you could feel its age and the underpinnings were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean but there were spots on the ceiling that raised some eyebrows. Gym was clean and well stocked. Reception was overall very helpful except for delays in housekeeping/maintenance arriving to solve a plumbing issue. Great value for money for London and the location for time of year."

"The property is as it says a classic hotel. If you come with that expectation and a good set of legs for the stairs you will have a wonderful authentic time"
