"Room had a left over crotch towel from the previous guest hanging up on the shower curtain rail. We carefully removed it and placed it in the hallway, and it was promptly picked up by the time we left the room 30 minutes later. Other than that the hotel and staff was great."

The big positive for this property is location, very near all the main areas for restaurants and bars but tucked out the way to be quiet. I would come back here if we come to Reykjavík again. "

"Aside for a bit of problems with the door code, handle and the battery that left me waiting outside for a bit I can not fault anyone. The staff via WhatsApp , phone and the guy that repaired my door were kind and polite. The room was not spotless but nothing to complain about. The room, the area, the view was great! Just a suggestion...if you leave some cleaning products and accessories ( broom, mop, etc.) it would make it easier to keep the room even cleaner as there is no service available....

"The Sem Apartment was really well stocked. The area is perfect, just a short walk to the famous Reykjavik church. We enjoyed our one night stay despite the stinky water, although we learned this is typical in Icelandic homes along our travels. "

"The apartment was well located to access the town and get to BSI terminal in 8-10 mins. Easy access if you are going on day tours. The unit is clean with kitchen amenities basic to cooking simple meals. Only setback was setting up the sofa bed where there was no instructions and had to sleep on the floor for the first night until we figured it out the next morning. "

"There is no reception and no visible staff on-site, but the room was clean and spacious, and had adjustable heating. The hot water has a sulfur-ish smell, but you get that with glacial water. The two different shower cubicles I used had the same tap setup (one for flow, another for temperature) but one cubicle had the water on a timer but nowhere to hang the showerhead, so you'd have to hold it all the time. The kitchen has 3 microwaves, 1 kettle, a hotplate and assorted pots/pans, enough...

"Good kitchen facilities, good breakfast. This is more like a hostel so don't expect to have the best sleep of your trip here. The mattresses are super thin and the rooms are small. There is one bathroom facility on each floor so keep that in mind when traveling."

Hotel staff were courteous and able to book our return journey to KEF airport. If we returned to Reykjavik we would certainly return to this hotel. Rooms were warm, we had room at rear of hotel overlooking garden area, away from traffic. "
