"Was here for a one night stay, this place is charming and is all self check in. Walkable in the area and we were able to park the car directly in front. Our private bathroom was very small and tight, and the water temp fluctuated, but all in all a good stay!"

"Excellent service and lively location. The breakfast was delicious, and its staff was charming and helpful. One caveat in the rooms: our bathroom had granite floors and walls. There were no rails or grab bars. Although beautiful, it was VERY slippery when wet. Be extra careful! We would stay here again without hesitation and recommend The Sand Hotel to others."

"Check-in was a bit confuse due to the address of the property, Cleaniess: The 2 bathroom sinks in both bathroon has a funky smell. Other than that the bathrooms are cleaned. The wood floor is dirty and a bit old that need to be updated. Host: Very nice, very responsive and accommodation for us to check in a bit early on arrive date and check out a bit late on depart date. Location: very convinience close to shopping groceries, restaurant and bus stop."

"Had a great stay but some issues with communication mean only 4 stars instead of 5. Starting with the good: Phenomenal location just steps from shoooing restaurants and major city sites. Once we were settled into the room, life was easy. Also, our room appeared recently renovated and had a full kitchen which helps save money vs eating at Reykjavík’s expensive restaurants. "It was absolutely lovely from beginning to end! We loved the apartment in every way! The view was beautiful. The curtains really blocked out all the light which we appreciated. We only have two small suggestions. A coffee table would have been nice to rest a drink on while sitting on the couch. It would be great if there were more steaming options than just Netflix. But overall the place was truly a delight! "

"Just had a 3-night stay at ION City. Staffs were all friendly and amazing. Location is in the core downtown tourism area of reykjavic so that could be pro or cons depending on what you like. It's a little bit loud outside especially if the room is towards the street, but window is reasonably sound-proof. One issue was that when I first arrived there were a few blood drops in the bath towels, but after I raised that issue the room service was all good for the rest of the stay. Overall 4/5. "

"Lovely stay across from the famous landmark church. Well located, clean and comfortable. Front desk very helpful with arrangements. Must arrange breakfast night before (which we didn't know) and rooms facing the street can be noisy as you need to leave windows open. Otherwise great stay!"

"We had a great stay! The property was spotless, with a well-stocked kitchen and a layout that worked perfectly for four adults. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the downtown area, with plenty of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. It also served as a convenient pickup spot for our excursions. Would definitely stay here again!"

"First time in Iceland, so wanted to experience Reykjavík. Staff were very helpful-holding luggage for me, giving directions, calling toyr operators to advocate for a closer pick up. Very pleasant. Breakfast was very good, room nice, comfy for a single woman. Close to everything around Reykjavík. Highly recommend. "
