"Nice place. The two bedroom suite had two bathrooms, three tvs, and four beds. This place had plenty of room! The in suite washer dryer combo (with included detergent) was extremely handy. Staff was nice and couldn’t have had a roomier stay."

"The staff were extremely helpful, storing luggage, arranging luggage transfers and offering use of their phone for a local call. Kids loved the bunk-beds and it was definitely handy having an in-room washer-dryer. The room was comfortable for a family of 4 but we were disappointed at there being no good views as the hotel is only a few stories high, in a quieter street. I had high expectations due to the Mimaru brand having great reviews especially for families, and while it ticked all the boxes...

"My wife and I traveled to Kyoto as part of our first trip to Japan and we both agreed, without a doubt Villa Sanjo Muromachi was a - of not the - highlight of our trip. A beautiful boutique hotel with spacious rooms, beautifully decored that make you feel right at home in the heart of historic and charming Kyoto. We opted to have breakfast served to our room and specifically the Japanese version which we did not regret. The service is top notch and especially the bartender. First rate cocktails...

"Fantastic venue with a great vibe and well furnished/kitted social space. The free tea, coffee and pastries (and breads) were above our expectations and helped to set us up well for our days out in the city. The range of board games and books was also a pleasant surprise. The staff were helpful and polite from our arrival and were always willing to help. The room had a good range of amenities and very enjoyable shower. "Rooms do look like the picture, BUT the views are NOT as advertised. You're likely looking at AC units or another unattractive view as my friends also had a similar view on the other side of the hotel. Lighting is not great in the bathroom. Coffee wasn't great as they had a drip system. Looked cute, but not awesome if you need coffee. It also wasn't as conveniently located as we thought. Not a bad hotel by any means, but not a 5 star."

"Ace hotels never disappoint us. We’ve stayed at the Ace in LA a couple of times and was excited to check out the Ace in Kyoto. The room we booked for 3 (standard twin) was spacious and clean. The decor is always very nice as well. Our reservation included free breakfast for 2 and the food was great and filling. There’s a shopping center and train station conveniently located out their side door. Customer service is always great and we can’t wait to return for another visit in the future."
