"My wife and I traveled to Kyoto as part of our first trip to Japan and we both agreed, without a doubt Villa Sanjo Muromachi was a - of not the - highlight of our trip. A beautiful boutique hotel with spacious rooms, beautifully decored that make you feel right at home in the heart of historic and charming Kyoto. We opted to have breakfast served to our room and specifically the Japanese version which we did not regret. The service is top notch and especially the bartender. First rate cocktails...

"Excellent place to stay in Gion. Really nice location, convenient. Attentive staff but they will not get in your way. Nice bathroom with a Japanese-style shower and tub area. Very clean and nice amenities. Although no breakfast provided, they provide suggestions and a convenience store is right across the street."

"This is listed as a 3 star hotel. It is not. It is the most luxurious hotel we’ve stayed at, including 5 star properties. The room was amazing. The location was perfect. Although everyone in Japan seems extraordinarily nice, the staff here beat even that standard. There was not one second of our time at this property that wasn’t perfect. 10/10. "
