"A beautiful gem of a hotel situated on Mt. Varese, quiet and with an impeccable view of the surroundings. A great destination for a little getaway. The building itself is old, but charming and well-kept. Our room extended across two floors, with the bedroom on the bottom and the bathroom (with a shower cell, toilet and bidet) upstairs. "We stayed two nights in June. The owners could not have been more accommodating. Continental breakfast was included and both lunch and dinner were available in their restaurant. The views from our room, the pools deck and the restaurant were stunning. Bus transportation into Lugano runs hourly. A truly enjoyable stay!"

"We loved staying in this hotel with its unique history and beautiful decor. It is a special place in a wonderful location and we had fabulous views from our balcony. The walk to Morcote took under 30 minutes with lovely views but you need to wear trainers as the path is uneven. We also enjoyed walking to the castle through the vineyards and exploring lake Lugano by bus and boat. We tended to get Uber taxi’s back up to to hotel as it was a steep climb ( cost 18CHF) "

"I truly enjoyed my stay - from staff to amenities . I want to come back! Please note that it is a small town so finding lots of restaurants open late will be hard and using Uber to go to the airport (or anywhere) will be nearly impossible. Ask front desk for planning and assistance with this. "

"Very clean, comfortable stay. I love the neighborhood of where this stay is located. It was my favorites of the 6 places we stayed in Switzerland. Breakfast was incredible, simple but had everything you could want. Dining was across the street in a very nice restaurant. Staff was so very kind. Loved it!"
