"The rooms and staff are amazing, so I plan on staying here again. The bathtubs with fizzy bubbles are kind of a gimmick, especially if you are used to strong jacuzzi’s. Really liked the room delivered breakfast (breakfast in bed!), but the “Western” breakfast has a strong Japanese influence to it. "

It is not a material luxury experience (there are many others who fit this expectation), so much as an unintentional unmannicured view into the past of old Kyoto. Very dreamy for me at least!. It felt like returning to my granny's house in post war Setayaga. Special. There are exceptional people among the staff whose heart beats echo mine and that era."

"This was a nice stay. The room was pretty large. We didn’t interact much with the staff, they were a little on the quieter side for a Japanese hotel. The bathroom is more geared towards traditional Japanese bathing than an American style shower, but I liked that. Best of all, there’s a great balcony on top with awesome views. I spent quite a bit of time up there reading and enjoying the views while my wife slept in"

The hotel is centrally located in the mid of the liveliest Kyoto area on top of Takase canal lined with beautiful Sakura trees. The Blue bottle cafe downstairs has the best coffee and the Master’s Dream house restaurant has the best beer. Walking distance to Maruyama park and Kyoto Takashimaya shopping mall. Amazing stay!"

"My experience with KABIN Minamiza/Gion was excellent. Very convenient location in Gion, easy to get to everything in the area. The facilities were great, big rooms and easy to access things like Laundry services. Check in was simple and can be done ahead of time, so you are ready to go the moment you arrive. "

"Ive been here before and the first time it was amazing. But for some reason, it was a bit more dusty than usual and the air condition felt a little on the warm side. As for the Laundry, its better to go to a coin laundry as the machine was a bit weaker to dry. "

"Best place for solo female traveller to stay if u wanna go around gion-uji-biwa area. It’s located infront of main road and it’s easy to spot the hotel. It’s also easy to bring your luggage from sanjo station. The room space is spacious and i really wanted to extend my stay for one day but i have other plans."
