"Had to ask for housekeeping to clean the room. The pool area was never monitored, as small kids vomited in the hot tub. As well the hot tub jets were out of service on 2 different occasions. Service at the restaurant was not the greatest. For the most part, my week went well, but this was a lot of issues for a 5 night stay."

"The hotel is new, clean, and provides convenient parking access. While some room amenities required maintenance during our stay, the staff addressed the issue promptly by providing replacements. However, the breakfast selection was limited and fell short of the standard typically expected from a Marriott-branded property. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay with responsive customer service."

"Great stay. Petty Harbour room with private bathroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the private bathroom with shower and Native brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Breakfast was a definite highlight during which the owner Rob offered recommendations and advice on the local sites, stories, and jokes a plenty. Fantastic location. Would absolutely stay again."

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The property was clean and well maintained. I wasn’t expecting a kitchen in the room, but it proved to be very convenient. The only thing that I was disappointed in, was there wasn’t a charging station for my EV Hybrid vehicle."

"Wistful location and a beautiful room. Very large with a nice sitting area, decorated with a spa like touch. Very comfy bed, waffle towels and bathrobe. Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!"

"Breakfast at little Sparo was fabulous Room was terrible, very depressing, not sure why we had a handicap room, asked for harbour view, even though we booked 3 months in advance , & gave us parking lot view! Staff was just ok, not too helpful regarding any enquires we had about the area. Wouldn’t stay at Doubletree again!"

"Clean rooms. Kitchen area needs a bit of an update. Beds were comfortable with newer linens. One small elevator that smelled of smoke and stairwell also smelled of smoke - probably some guest who wasn’t adhering to no smoking policy. Otherwise acceptable and good enough stay. Prices in the city a lot higher than I expected."

"We had a wonderful stay for one night in the Quidi Vidi room. Then we came back at the end of our trip for four nights and stayed in Port Royal room, and this one was much bigger with bigger bathroom. Both rooms were on the first floor. The manor was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of yogurt, muffins, cereal, as well as eggs freshly made with toasts and bacon or sausage. Juice, coffee, tea and milk. "Mini fridge broken. Loud sound when heater was turned on. No staff right away when checking out. Misleading photo. Elevator concerning sounds too. Was not worth the $400 for the night"

"The facility is rustic, has no elevator, and all rooms are on the 2nd floor so without staff helping take luggage to the room it would have been a challenge. This was evident upon checkout as there were no staff to help bring luggage down the stairs. The room and bathroom were clean, but the closet had a sign saying “Do not use due to water leak”. We did have a lovely meal in the attached restaurant and the staff were excellent!"

"Liked: room size and layout; easy parking and access; closet layout. Clean Disliked: room fan/ac/ heat was impossibly loud making it difficult to sleep- hear the tv or even carry on a conversation. (Room 406) -1 for that issue. Desk staff were unhelpful and not typical of my previous NL experiences. Over a 4 night stay, we engaged at check in/out and 3 questions - they couldn’t care less and were of no help."
