"Nice stay, second time at this hotel. Room a little tired but it adds to the character. Staff were lovely. For breakfast the selection of fresh fruits and Jams were excellent, however the hot foot was topped in no particular order and a bit of waiting around for the full selection to be available."

"I liked the location of the hotel, perfect position for a short break to Exmouth. We were allocated a nice room which may have been recently refurbished, with a side view of the sea, everything was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Too be fair the hotel was a little dated, but we had a great stay. Reception staff were nice, but breakfast was very different unfortunately. I guess the young waitress preferred to be somewhere else on a hot sunny bank holiday!"

"Well located for shops and both Exeter Main and St. Davids railway stations. My room was compact but well thought out and well equipped. It was great to have a light next to the bed which you could turn off/on easily and the shower was good. Breakfast was first class, beautifully served and coffee one of the best. I would have liked more savoury options for the breakfast but that is just a small preference. Host was really helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again."

It was great to see the bar /restaurant buzzing with locals and others staying there. Staff were really helpful. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay and located well for exploring. "

"Almost great, but faded glory is a better summary. The "king size" bed was actually a 5' wide "queen", and of a bouncy trampoline design that dates back a few decades. The breakfast buffet lacked modern coffee selections -- just a decent large pre-brewed spout for it -- and had no chopped fruit etc. Adequate yes, great not. Parking was easy. The room required a mix of elevator and stairs to access, or just purely stairs. Lots of hard materials and doors that noisily slam, instead of the...
