As a long-time Hilton Honors member, I was deeply disappointed with a recent stay at a Hilton-branded all-inclusive resort booked via Expedia. Despite paying over $3,000 for the experience, the resort failed to meet even basic Hilton standards.
Major Issues:
Unsanitary conditions: Moldy odor, dusty surfaces, and blood-stained bedding that was not immediately replaced.
Poor maintenance: Rusted furnishings, low water pressure, broken fixtures, and unclean hallways.
Subpar service: No welcome or orientation, long delays in service, and lack of proactive hospitality.
Food concerns: Undercooked meals, broken equipment, and slow service at on-site restaurants.
Overall neglect: Property lacked leadership, cleanliness, and basic guest care, with several staff seemingly untrained or disengaged.
While some individual staff members were kind, the overall experience was disorganized, unsanitary, and far below Hilton’s standards. Hilton needs to close this property at least during the slow season to renovate. The spa and lobby were amazing and no reason the guest rooms and other parts of the property should be substandard. My hair, clothes and bags smelled like the room even after travelling for nearly 24 hrs to return home. Very disappointing. This was a vacation we endured not enjoyed and anxiously anticipated its end.
