"I had the oddest upgrade to a canal view room that was literally on the same level as the canal. I could feel the vibration of the tour boat engines and all the neon lights of the centrum canal were right out the window. There were black out curtains though so I could sleep - the bed was comfy. As bizarre as that was, the room was just fine for what I needed. Super convenient to the train station and right in the heart of the bustle of Centrum Amsterdam. The staff was nice as well. A no frills stay for the right price."

"Hotel Rho was a great base for our city‑break trip. The location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of everything, with easy access to bars, restaurants, and all the main sights. We stayed in a three‑person room, which was clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited for our needs since we were out exploring most of the day and night. It gave us exactly what we needed: a solid place to crash and recharge. The breakfast buffet was a really nice surprise and great value. Plenty of options, fresh food, and a relaxed setup that made it easy to fuel up before heading out again. Overall, Hotel Rho delivered exactly what we were looking for: a clean, well‑located, good‑value spot for a fun weekend in Amsterdam."

"The hotel is centrally located and reasonably priced but the property is immense, has no charm, and the service is spotty. I had to ask three times for an extra pillow before I finally got one on our last night. On the other hand, the information person was quite helpful. The room was fine but one light didn’t work well and the room seemed dark at night."

"We stayed at the hotel last year and had a wonderful, spacious room with canal view. This year, I booked a regular room and was disappointed as soon as I opened the curtain to a view of vents and walls. The pool and hottub were both out of order, which is disappointing when you boik a5-star hotel and really look forward to a spa day. The staff was very nice, and I would recommend the restaurant. The Amrath is very conveniently located, 2 blocks away from Centraal and 3 blocks from the Red Light District. I would stay here again but book a room with a canal view."

"Amazing staff willing to try to accommodate any request. Great location to see everything in town (it’s very walkable and you can also rent a bike and go anywhere) and to travel to and from other countries. The room could’ve been a tiny bit cleaner but honestly it seems every hotel has let standards slip since Covid. First hotel in Europe I’ve seen where the thermostat will let you set the A/C below 20C, place deserves 5 stars for that alone."
