This is a great spot for those who want to stay by patong beach but be away from the chaos that surrounds the area. Its on a mountain overlooking the beach and your a 3 minute ride away. The staff is great and the pool is amazing. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area

Traditional Thai style architecture, with the modern touch. My second stay (2014, 2023) and again the atmosphere, staff, and personal attention to your wants and needs exceeds a five star hotel. Very convenient location in walking distance to Patong Beach, yet far enough from the beach hustle & bustle.

Has potential but beware of road traffic noise

It was ok but did not live up to expectations considering the cost. There are two main drawbacks which were not clear/ I missed in the description and reviews. 1) The pool and sunbeds are about 10 yards from a main road (no exaggeration). The main road is omitted from the pictures. This makes any hopes to relax by the pool in the 'quiet oasis' described is not actually so quiet and it sounds like sunbathing on the hard shoulder. 2) Whilst the hotel is located not far from the beach, what is not mentioned is that the walk is up a very steep hill. Whilst it follows that clearly there is an incline as to get the view overlooking the beach, it is steep which potentially those who are less mobile would greatly struggle with. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. The room seemed clean along with the rest of the hotel. Also the pool was well maintained. The hotel seemed very tired though and in need of a big refresh and revamp. Along with the two main considerations above I would say that overall not particularly great value for money, but if you are looking for a bed for the night close to Patong Beach and have the means to walk/money for taxis then it's just 'ok'.

Would never recommend this hotel

Unfortunately this hotel is much older than it looks in the pictures and needs quite a bit of maintenance. We mainly booked this hotel because of the large tub and the freshness of the pictures but these pictures were taken by a professional photographer clearly. We stayed there for two nights and they could not even fix the tub where it would hold water in order to take a bath they kept trying to put a sink plug which does not work. The internet was atrocious we couldn't get on our online banking or anything to even book an Excursion. Staff was friendly and they seem to be trying to do something but it was not enough and definitely not acceptable. You also want to make sure you look at the shuttle schedule to get to the beach even though the driver will tell you he can pick you up at another time he will not be there to pick you up and the hotel will charge you to come get you. They tried to make up for it by giving us a single pancake with a little bit of fruit which cost maybe a $1.50 us. It was almost laughable that that's all they were willing to offer... smh bad experience but all can be fixed with proper management and training

We wanted the airport transfer to hotel, but not sure how the payment works apart from bank transfers. The payment webpage looks backdated, plain and weird. If there are payment using Paypal, Apple Pay, Visa, it’ll be more convincing, secured and safe for us. We arrived late, extremely hungry enduring flight transfers and traffic from airport. The staffs are friendly, kind and accommodating. The food is generally nice, beautifully presented, but not all, because we have specific diet. We hope to have more seafood finger foods, green vege dishes etc. But of all, the garlic bread is the most memorable to us. This resort is pretty aged. It’s not perfect, but it’s very homely, nice and clean. It’s on a hill, 15 mins walk to the end of Patong Beach. I love the spacious room given at the highest floor. The large room space and the balcony facing the sky and the coast of beach, allows my mind to relax and recover away from work and home. The TV has very weak to zero signals. It’s almost a blank TV. We love and prefer local channel and news when traveling so that it will keep our mind away from home. Fortunately there’s Google Apps and YouTube, but it will be the same as what we watch at home. Therefore exposure to local broadcasts is still the best. Hiring a hotel driver is one of the best. We got a very pleasant polite driver. We hope there will be improvement in the vicinity. A nice walking path from the resort to the beach with sitting/resting spots will be splendid!

This resort is about a 10 minute walk to patong beach, another 10 minutes to Bangla Road. The resort itself is very clean and quiet. Our room was amazing, enough room for the 3 of us. The balcony, spacious, over looking the pool and beach. The staff were friendly and very helpful, they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Restaurants food was very good and tast. Definitely a place you want to go back too.

I stayed here with my 11 and 9 year old for 9 nights and we LOVED every bit of it! Location is fantastic, the food at Rice Restaurant was spot on and the staff were absolutely wonderful, always smiling and helpful. The view of Patong beach was beautiful and walking distance. Would highly recommend!

The property was a beautiful Thai-styled resort. Very relaxing setting. We loved the pool. We had a beautiful room with pool access. The restaurant on the property was just lovely. I was travelling on my own and this boutique resort was perfect for me. The staff looked after me and I didn't want for anything. The location is why I chose this hotel. then i was wanting a good room size with space this certainly was perfect. i loved the rooms. WIFI was a little weak in the rooms , but excellent by the pool ( great space for an office LOL ) with wonderful service from staff serving Watermelon Crush or a coconut water:) staff were new but very helpful and wanting to help with every request. i would strongly suggest to purchase an Industrial Coffee machine then have your service staff trained as full Barista's at the Phuket Coffee Lab. the breakfast menu could be increased with etc omeletes etc otherwise breakfast was good. thank you for everyone at your hotel i will stay again. Stayed at this property for 6 nights over New Years. The photos of this place are truly outdated and i definitely wouldn’t have booked knowing the conditions of the hotel. Booked pool suite with pool access only to have a room across from the pool as they only have two rooms with pool access. My partner and I were eaten alive by bugs that were able to get into the room through the gaps in the doors where seals were supposed to be. Staff have very very limited English vocabulary and makes it hard to communicate, although they do mean well.

The property was in a noisy area due to be located on the side of a road. Land being cleared close by. Very dirty bathroom area with stains on toilet floor . Everything in poor condition. Staff did not have any authority to help people staying at the resort. Felt like young staff not experienced. Internet poor. All items raised with manger who not keen to put right, just compensation. 😞

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We didn’t get the room we had booked and paid for. We have stayed here about 6 times before 10years ago - so know the rooms. Our booking was for 5 days - after 3 days we were offered the room we had booked. The condition of the hotel has deteriorated dramatically. The room we had was exceptionally noisy . The staff tried very hard and the cleaning was good . Unfortunately the problem is the “state of repair”. We have always highly recommended Baan Yin Dee to our friends - but due to the state of the place this could not happen now. It is such a shame as it have always been such a nice peace to stay ( but not now) very sad!!
