"We stayed here for one night. The hotel only has 3 suites. The room was incredibly well appointed, modern, and spotless. The room has a little private patio with outdoor furniture and a beautiful view of the harbor and sea. There is a ladder access to the sea which is convenient and a small spa on a balcony above the sea. The staff was very nice (even with limited English) and most helpful to organize transfers. Breakfast was served on the terrace and delicious."

"We booked the two bedroom jacuzzi penthouse. While the staff was helpful and the room nice, there were a few issues we were surprised by. First, the room was not at the property location listed here. Instead, it was several blocks away, outside the centre, making the breakfast and use of the spa facilities inconvenient, especially given that I was using crutches to get . It was on the fourth floor with no elevator. we had to pay extra to open the second bedroom"

"First we need to give the family (staff) that runs this fantastic hotel 10 stars, 5 stars just not enough. Super helpful in recommending many restaurants, a winery tour, where to park, etc. Also went above and beyond helping us sort out an issue with a Viator boat trip we wanted to cancel. They pepared fantastic breakfasts. Wonderful, fun people we are glad to have met. The room spotless, bed comfortable, bathroom excellent!"

"Spectacular setting with beautiful outdoor oceanside terrace and bar! This is the main reason for positive rating despite problems listed below. Several shortcomings with the rooms. AC did not work and was not repaired despite bringing this to management twice during our stay. We had to leave windows open and woke up each morning with mosquito bites. Room layout is odd, with the shower and sink next to the bed and separate smaller room for toilet. No exhaust fan in room/bathroom. Problems with non-functioning room lighting. No prices on in-room wine bottles for minibar. Obviously, you'd like to know before opening a bottle. This is a B & B with limited staff on site presence. Also, staff had surprisingly limited English language skills. Staff however was friendly and pleasant. Seems to be family run. Staff lacks hospitality training and language skills that one would expect at this price point or what one would routinely experience at a quality hotel."

"We stayed at Hotel San Giovanni from September 11th until September 14th. The location is beautiful — it’s a private villa converted into a hotel, set right on the beach in a very secluded area. To reach Polignano a Mare, you need to take a tuk‑tuk, which costs about 15 euros each way, but staying in this quiet spot is absolutely worth it. The beach area in front of the hotel is small and a bit rocky, yet still perfectly manageable for swimming. There is a local fortress nearby and four restaurants in the area, though be aware that they close from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Polignano a Mare itself is a stunning town that deserves at least a few days to explore. The room at the hotel is a good size, with a comfortable bed that’s close to a North American queen. The shower and toilet room are also spacious. Breakfast, prepared by Barbara and (I believe) her mother, is fantastic — you would need far more space on the Expedia page to describe it properly. There is also a private sandy beach nearby, though access costs around 40–80 euros. Overall, our stay here was one of the best experiences we had while travelling in Italy. As one of the days we stayed was my wife’s birthday, Barbara helped make it truly special by arranging flowers and providing a candle for the cake. Thank you, Barbara, for accommodating us!"
