"This is a lovely hotel that has been converted from opd miner's cottages into modern rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean although a little on the small side if you have a lot of luggage. It is conveniently located just a short walk from the town and the bus stop outside is handy for the sherpa bus. Unfortunately the lake view is now almost obscured by trees across the road. Amy was very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay and is always available. I would definitely recommend this...

"If you’re looking for a historic experience while visiting the castle, you can’t get better than this Inn. It’s obviously been modernized, but eating downstairs has such a tavern feel to it. "We spent a delightful six nights at Victoria House. The owner, Jan, was a gracious and very helpful host. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. No breakfast was served, but there are many excellent breakfast spots within a five minute walk. And the room came with ground coffee and a French press coffee maker, plus excellent snacks. The location within the old city walls and adjacent to the sea is perfect. "

"We stayed at this lovely hotel in April. We had 2 small labs with us. We could not take them into the bar or restaurant, but that was NOT a problem. The team were wonderful with us and our dogs. They went above and beyond for us. They made us up a beautiful table in the library and served us drinks, breakfast & a wonderful dinner there along with our labs. The service, food and hotel were lovely. It made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you guys"
