Our apartment was tidy and the staff were very helpful. The location is ideal for getting into central Melbourne. The neighbourhood also has good cafes. What was particularly pleasing was how spacious the accomodation was, it was ideal with separate bedrooms at each end of the apartment If you prefer to do your own cooking, the kitchen is great. Overall, we were very happy with the set up, perhaps the one downside is it can be a bit noisy from traffic in the evenings, but then it is on edge of the inner city and we got used to it. We had read some poor reviews before arriving, but that was not our experience and we plan to come back when in Melbourne again!

There was no signage for Oaks Suites on the building, which made it very difficult to find to find the front desk. This was a stressful start to our stay. However, staff were very friendly once we located them and helpful throughout our stay.

Bad start with room allocated not having been cleaned but staff quickly reallocated different room which was bigger . The place is a dump! Our unit wasn’t cleaned properly when we arrived and housekeeping had to come back to clean again. The bathroom had hair on the floor, the shampoo, conditioner and cake of soap from the previous guests was still in the shower & the air conditioning vent looks as though it has never been cleaned. The kitchen bench had food marks on it & there were food scraps under the couch. The walls are dirty and have marks all over them, the windows had hand prints everywhere and the bathroom cabinet is broken. The light globe in the bathroom needed changing, the bathroom sink has a big crack in it the oven and dishwasher had streaks all over them. The bed sloped down at the head of the bed and it felt like my head was leaning right back. The traffic noise was quite loud and constant as we were adjacent to the freeway. The only positive comment I can make is that we had a great view of Melbourne city from the room.
