"The staff in every section were fantastic, Cheerful, helpful and very polite. Food was cooked to perfection, Breakfast had plenty of choice and would cook extra things for you if they had it. For us, a couple in our 70's it was absolutely 100% perfection and if we come back to Chester again we will certainly be staying here."

"We stay at the hotel once a year as a treat. It’s such a unique and friendly hotel with fantastic staff. It’s a very old hotel but they keep it updated but somethings like not having walk in showers might put some off as the shower is a curtain around the bath but that just adds to the charm for us. Chester is a lovely place to visit and the hotel is in a great location. "

"Travelling from York, so was a stop over before hitting Wales. Hey, it was a nice place to stay. The room was incredible (although for me, I'd change the carpet on the staircase to room 9. Visually, very tricky!!) Check in was quick and easy. The only thing I'd point out, and it is nit picking, I think the staff need to be more 'that's no problem, we'll sort that out' as opposed to 'we'll see what we can do,' ... Yeah, I've worked in customer service for 40 + years blah blah... and we all have off days. We're dealing with the hardest product known to man!!... the public!! It can be draining! But the smallest adjustment in focus can make a huge difference. But like I say, I'm being proper mean and picky there. Food was excellent, the checkout lady was lovely as were the breakfast people. I'd definitely consider stopping again. "

"My partner and I stayed here for two nights and she loved it from first site of the grounds and the hotel. It was a short walk into Llangollen where we had access to restaurants and pubs, plus the River Dee and the canal."

Great location 5 minutes from motorway and only a few minutes from city centre and the zoo which is why we visited"
