"I have never had a bad stay at this hotel. I’ve visited this hotel 3 times since July of 2025. This last stay I had mistakenly hit the button for Single Smoking Room. When I discovered my mistake, the front desk staff quickly sorted me, and didn’t charge extra for a double room Non Smoking! The restaurants here are also delicious!"

"This deserves much more than an 8.4 rating. We had one of the best ski stays ever at the Arai and we’ve stayed at Chamonix, Aspen, Jackson Hole, and Big Sky. "Nice hotel. Service was helpful but not always polite. Most people where great though. Dinner is over priced and not the greatest. Rooms where nice and clean and a good mix of traditional and modern."

"We booked three reservations. Their cancellation policy is great and it allows us flexibility in our trip. We travelled from Sapporo and were not sure to arrive on the first day of our reservation. So the one day reservation plus a three day was perfect. Great Japanese breakfast. Book larger rooms if you have luggage. Staff very amazing and helpful."

"It was a fairly simple stay, with just the basics in the room. Since we live in Japan, were used to certain aspects of a hotel room here, such as a tea kettle and coffee, plus some cups - and we missed those things. On the other hand, it was great to sleep on a bed that was not as hard as most Japanese mattresses. The breakfast was nothing special, but it was definitely appreciated. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and it was a welcome treat to have them all speak English. Overall, the stay was nothing special, but it had everything we needed, and the location was excellent. I would likely stay here again."
