"First, it’s so conveniently located near Kyoto Station. Wanted to experience a semi traditional room & feel and I got it! The tatami floor is well maintained. This is the first time I got escorted up the lift by a lovely auntie & introduced me to my room. The public bath is smaller than the usual ones in other hotels but it’s sufficient for a solo traveller."

"This Ryokan was fantastic! My wife and I stayed in the Seryo Ryokan for one night and were blown away by how nice and relaxing it was. We picked the private Onsen suite. Our room was the “Sakura” room which is a corner room with your own private garden, private onsen, and suite style room. The Kaiseki dinner was excellent and the breakfast was very good too. I will point out that dinner is rather early at 6 pm and although we were both full after dinner, we were craving additional food around 9...

"The staff were friendly and the location was convenient. The hotel however was very dated and the rooms were basic. Onsen was clean and there was free tea and coffee. If you want a quick easy stop then it’s not too bad but like I said. Basic"

"Very nice Ryokan! Slightly removed from the core but there are 2 buses that regularly go into town so its not a huge issue. We stayed in the private room on the lower floor with the private zen garden, highly recommend if its available as it was amazing for late night drinks, and the sounds of night and the river that runs beside the ryokan.
