"We had an amazing 3 day stay at Art Mon Zen. From the moment we arrived to leaving, the staff were exceptional and extremely attentive. Probably the best hotel stay in Japan. Overall, the room was very comfortable and relaxing after a long day visiting all the sensational sights in Kyoto. "This was a charming little place very close to the river, restaurants and shopping and just a short walk to the subway. Check-in was easy, staff was nice and the rooms were well-designed, cozy and clean. The price was very reasonable and we would definitely return. "

"In the heart of the shopping district. Staff was very friendly, easy access to public transportation, clean rooms. We stayed in a premium room so we had access to the premium lounge that offered free snacks and beverages."
"The Cross Hotel Kyoto came with high expectations after glowing reports from my sister as well as a good friend. I have to say that in almost every way it delivered. The design of the hotel alone is commendable. "
"Great location, very walkable to many destinations. Best breakfast buffet I’ve had with a good mix of western and Asian foods. Clean, helpful staff, coin laundry available. If I return I will stay here again. "
"We loved this hotel, and had a great 4 day stay in Kyoto. Very upscale and peaceful, in a quiet, non-touristy neighbourhood, with lots of convenient travel options. And we ended up in nearby underground jazz bar Zac Baran twice, as well as a tiny local restaurant about 15 minutes walk west, same side of street as hotel, called kawahigashi (it also says 'food and beverage' in English outside). We were the only people on a weeknight, with a single chef/server doing everything, and the food was phenomenal and reasonably priced."
