"Very nice hotel on High St. we were on the High St side, so it was a bit noisy. Otherwise great. I’ve booked dozens of hotels outside USA on Expedia, and always had prices quoted in US dollars on the Expedia ap. I didn’t notice that this booking was in £GBP. That adds 35% to an already expensive stay. BEWARE!"

"It’s a ok hotel f you don’t demand too much. It’s clean, and the staff are friendly too. Now let’s talk about the undesirable things in our room. 1: no refrigerator. 2: no safe box in room. 3: don’t provide enough towels ( had to ask for more what we needed) 4: no house phone in room that you need to go to front desk for anything.5: the temperature control in room is not functioning properly. I had to turn it on in the middle of night because the room was too hot. Isn’t it money talk in this case? I would pay more next time to find a better name of a hotel chain."

"This hotel was one of eight I stayed at during a 12-day rail trip across England. I specifically chose properties near train lines as the entire journey was by rail. Of the eight hotels, this was the most expensive and the worst overall; I've travelled to Oxford a number of times, and will not return to this hotel. Amenities: No reliable hot water—the shower was warm for ~2 minutes then turned cold. I was told issue had been fixed, but received no response when I asked what the root cause was or whether it would recur. In fact, it was NOT fixed that night and I had to message again to ensure it was addressed by morning. No compensation or goodwill gesture was offered. Staff/Service: No on-site staff. Check-in is via lockbox or a phone number on the door. As I had no voice plan, calling was not possible. Wi-Fi details were not provided despite asking; I later found the SSID/password posted in the lobby. After initial replies claiming Hot Water issue was fixed, further messages went unanswered (not acceptable to me), including follow-ups when the hot water failed again. Cleanliness: Acceptable but poorly maintained, including an iron burn in the carpet, mold in the shower, and most TV channels not working. Property Condition: Poor. Dirty, worn stairwell carpet and general signs of neglect. Overall, several basic expectations were not met and communication was consistently poor. I'm also going to be reaching out directly to Expedia about this experience."

"Love this hotel! It is in a fantastic location in the city. It is quiet at night. It even had a fan, fridge, and kettle with coffee and tea. The room was a great size and had everything you need. We where able to check in early. I highly recommend."

"The bathroom wasn’t clean when I checked in- there also wasn’t anyone at the front desk and the check in process was confusing- people kept ringing the doorbell to try to get in because there weren’t instructions. It was a mediocre experience, but definitely expensive for what it is "

"Hotel & Staff were excellent, informed us of services at the hotel and also nearby. Hotel had prepared relevant papers for the visually impaired guest in our party, presented professionally with no fuss. Room great, lovely bath and shower."
