"This is an amazing property (staff, location, amenities), but the food and beverage quality is sorely lacking. Overall: Every drink is at least $16. Mind you, this is a no-frills mixed drink marketed as a cocktail. I use the word "cocktail" here very loosely. I guess this is to be expected; you're on an island. "Although a bit dated we had a lovely stay here. The draw back here is although there is a beach it isn't a great one and dangerous to swim at as the undertow is very very strong. Also there is an enormous amout of driftwood and large pieces of wood in the water which is very dangerous. The staff were lovely. The grounds were beautiful. "First time on Kauai? Please be aware, nothing is Ocean Front. You may see the ocean, but all housing is high on cliffs and far from the water. Between the roosters and the property maintenance workers, do not plan to sleep past 7 a.m! Would have been nice to have a food option on the property.
