Albergo San Marco

"The Albergo San Marco was a 10 out of 10 stay. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff, facilities and rooms were all excellent. Located in the heart of the action, just behind St. Mark's square, this was an ideal location and very handy for popping back to the room to refresh before heading out for more sight seeing. It was also close to 3 vaporetto (water bus) stops. The Alilaguna water bus from the airport stopped at the San Marco Giardinetti stop and it was only a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The breakfast was very good and included hot dishes (eggs/bacon) and a variety of other options (yogurt and toppings, vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, breads, cereals, pastries, juices, tea and coffee). There was a small grocery store just steps away and many, many restaurants and take away food options in the area. The rooms have great air conditioning, it was very quiet at night, and the hotel has been recently renovated ."

"The hotel is in a very good location in the San Marco area. Just a couple minutes walk to San Marco Square, and near many restaurants and shops. But ... When we arrived we were given keys to a room that was still occupied. We were then given an unoccupied room. Tha AC was a little loud at first but we adjusted settings to quiet it down. The shower was missing one of the doors needed to keep water from spraying out, so somewhat inconvenient for showering. Very good continental style breakfast with very helpful and friendly staff."

"This was a lovely stay. The hotel is very nice and decorated well, and the air conditioner worked great. It was also very close to the water taxi that goes to the airport, so nice and convenient. I would highly recommend this place"

"I enjoyed the location of the hotel, just of St Mark’s Square. However it was in an area where it was hard to get my luggage to/from the hotel. As a solo mature aged female I needed help with my luggage and because of the location of the hotel I had no other choices but to use a water taxi 80 Euro to hotel and a whopping 105 Euro return to Venice SL station. The latter was a real rip off by water taxi owners. However, it made things easy being in the centre of the activities, especially for visiting the Biennale locations. I thoroughly enjoyed all the Biennale & Co Lateral Biennale displays especially Homa Faber"
