"We loved this hotel. It is just a 20 minute walk, and five minutes on transit from the main touristy district. We prefer not to be right in the center of the tourist district, because the restaurants are all a rip off, and it is noisy. The Up Hotel has lots of little shops and cafes around it that locals use. "Everything in all honesty was really good. Staff really helpful, the lady(red hair wish we'd asked her name)at breakfast made our kids packed lunch which was a life saver 3 hours later. So a huge thanks to her. The biggest let down was the later check in process. We did speak to the front desk in the morning and the explanation was details weren't readily available through Expedia when booking on Expedia. I can't see this being the case because correspondence before arrival via email, Expedia...

"Very close to two metro lines, so very convenient when you buy a 72 hour pass. Staff and breakfast were very good. Room was good also and clean. A good experience!"

"Beautiful building! Great location. Metro Oktogon is very close to the hotel. Also other t. They have lockers where you can leave your luggage with no extra payment for a few hours. We had a balcony and even though we were facing one of the main avenues it was quiet at night time."

Central area Negatives No bar of any use or evening restaurant Rooms are spread out in weird areas. Eg one by reception desk. Two by the bar area. One by the breakfast area. "The hotel is in a good location for transit- close to Octagon. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Rooms are very nice with modern amenities- great shower. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars was the less than enthusiastic front desk and breakfast staff. They were fine- but not welcoming or enthusiastic to make your stay special. Overall a really good hotel at a moderate price point. Would recommend for sure."
