Hotel Dekat Garden of St Mary de Castro

"The Lodge was so surprising. Being on the Cathedral grounds, it evokes a sense of tranquility and calm. That feeling does not extend past the walls of the ground. The breakfasts were amazing. The staff was most accommodating. Everything was within the radius of the Lodge and walking to places was easy. The only thing that disappointed was that the standard double room has a tiny bed which was caused a snug bed-share challenge. It worked out. We're glad we chose that accommodation."

"The food at the hotel was very good and excellent value. The bar was a bit dingy and old fashioned. The weather was hot but the hotel provided good fans. There was plenty of hot water and a very comfortable bed. Overall it was good value and we enjoyed our stay."

"Not sure the huge price increase just to have a view of the Tower of London was worth it. No coffee/tea in room. Self check-in which was fast but I would have rather had someone greet me while I checked in. Just in case I had questions. Plus it makes it feel personalized. All that said, room was immaculate and bed comfortable."

"I stayed in the cottage in the grounds. It was well equipped for cooking , clean and comfortable as well as quiet ."

"The staff were fantastic very helpful and lovely to talk too and the room was beyond what I was expecting, beautifully clean lovely and warm the toilets were always clean and the shower was a walk in we absolutely enjoyed I stay and hopefully will be back next year. "Great location for the centre of Canterbury and access to the cathedral, shops and green spaces. Air-conditioning in room a bit noisy, but otherwise room met our needs. Ideally a coffee machine in the room would be better and a mini-bar. What we didn't like was the fact that we had booked a continental breakfast, but you could only order one item from a menu, and coffee/juice and the buffet offered was only cereal and fruit. Not sure how this is continental as would have expected...

"Staff were very helpful but the rooms were very hot. Our room was on the top floor in the roof. Extremely hot with no air, only had a small fan, windows didn’t open very far, I understand our stay was in the heatwave but the heat in the room was unbearable, couldn’t sleep, there wasn’t any ventilation at all. We did ask to be moved to another room but there wasn’t any available, we was offered a bucket of ice to put in front of the fan, but didn’t make any difference. Overall not a very good...
