"Great location, great staff"

"There were two restaurants near one Greek and one Latin American we tried the latter and it was good, the Greek one was closed Monday. Staff were welcoming, small family run hotel so personal. Nice bar area. Breakfast was included (continental) but they did offer boiled eggs or bacon bap or sausage bap in the morning."

"The hotel is not inspiring on the outside but is well situated for trains, buses and travel to the Isle of Wight. It has the feel of a run-down hotel which is in the process of being up-graded by the present owners. My room had comfortable beds and a newly fitted bathroom but the windows could only be opened a small way as they were blocked by a fire escape staircase immediately outside. "Stayed here for 2 nights on the hottest weekend of the year in room 320. Air conditioning wasn't working we were sweltering in the small room with twin beds that were of differing heights. I spoke to reception about the air con and how hot it was in the room, they gave us desktop fans and told us there wasn't really anything else they could do as there were quite a few rooms with the same issue!! "The breakfast was excellent but wasn't at the Lady Hamilton it was 2 doors down. The double room was tiny, more suited to a single room. There was a very small space between the wall and the bed and care was needed not to nudge the kettle on the way past. No space for furniture although a hanging rail and a few shelves were behind a curtain. There was a stool. To exit the property there was a steep staircase and a fire door that shut behind you. "A clean and comfortable room which had all we needed. Parking was in a nearby multilevel carpark, a 5 min walk away. Staff were very helpful and friendly at all times."
