"We stayed here overnight before flying out the next morning. Sure, it's an older hotel but it's well-maintained, has large rooms, the beds were comfortable, casting onto the TV screen was easy, there was a restaurant onsite (not that we used it), lots of vending machines, free parking, the staff were helpful, near the airport and best of all, there was a shop freezer with ice cream products such as Magnums, Trumpets and so on. Would absolutely recommend this hotel."

"Overall, the property was a good value for the dollar. Would’ve rated it a bit higher except the new, revised airport shuttle service is terrible. They now partner with other hotels. The rides take longer and large groups of people arrive to register at once. The new shuttle service is truly a step downward."

"Nice and convenient place to stay especially with early flights. Found check in was slow as was getting our bags to our room. Bar on top floor was great, staff super attentive. Comfortable beds and room was spacious."

"A clean room and great people on staff. A warm welcome and airport pickup. I had issues with the TV but this was sorted quickly and they couldn't do enough. Oakwood is my 'go to' for overnight stays in Auckland both for domestic trips though Auckland and foreign travel. The people make this business. A great team!"

"The property was basic, but I was very pleased with what I got for the price. It was very clean, with lovely crisp clean linen (always my main concern). Shuttle to airport was $10 and left on time (beware they only run every couple of hours early morning at least - not sure how regular they are during the day). My room even had a little balcony. Would definitely stay there again."

"Average breakfast. Room was cold on ground level, mezzanine level hot. Furbishments quite dated. Park-like environment is nice and close proximity to motorway is a bonus."

"It’s a good apartment to stay for a couple of days but the location is not great. No shops/restaurants nearby. You definitely need a car. "

"Room well appointed and nicely laid out. Everything beautiful and clean. We went to the restaurant as well, which was closing early due to the weather warnings. But they still offered to make us food, and let us know what we could have within the timeframe. Would have loved to have had more time in restaurant/bar, as it looked so inviting. Would definitely stay if out this way again."
