"Great hotel and the owner is very helpful "

"First stay and had a twin room. £44. The building and interior is quaint and quirky. To some extent it reminded me of my great nans house, with the old black round light switches and 'old' smell. Suits of armour, croquette set, tapestry rocker chair. The rooms had the heating on so lovely and warm on a chilly evening. Boiling hot water for a bath with complementary gel. Bed and pillows super comfortable. Fair size room. Asked for more tea as only 2 bags in the room. Really welcoming...

"Gem of a place! Gorgeous old building with high ceilings and plasterwork in the bar and breakfast rooms. Delicious cooked breakfast made to order. Staff super friendly and helpful. Great to have ample parking. Slept well as it was so quiet. Would definitely return if I wanted to visit the area again."

"Great hotel in a pleasant setting, nice staff. Room was spacious and comfortable with a huge window with woodland views. Dinner was good but they need more healthy options on the menu as everything seems to come with chips. Breakfast was great. Overall, highly recommended! "

"The room itself was clean and everything covered. The entrance hall and stairs are tired and requie a spruce up. The security deposit and photo ID before check in seems over the top as I only had a one night stay. It was great value for money and excellent location. Would I use again? Perhaps, but the ID and security bond puts me off."
