"The Sun is a regular place we stay when in Coniston. Staff are great, rooms are good and the location is perfect!"

"Room was average for the price paid but overall looked tired. Very old pub and traditional rooms but that’s no reason to ignore mould and damage to the bathroom and paint flaking off the walls. Light fitting was hanging off by exposed wires. In the evenings the pub downstairs is busy with a lot of noise heard upstairs until about midnight. "

All the staff were really lovely but the lady in reception who dealt with us was especially helpful to us. The breakfast was really nice too. All in all a really nice night away and would recommend."

"We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point. Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well. Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting. The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated. Definitely recommend 10/10"

"The Puddle Duck was one of THE BEST places we have ever stayed in! When we arrived, all we could smell were the roses, coming from the incredibly beautiful garden. The property is absolute perfection! We arrived a few hours earlier than planned, but the owner took us right up to our room. It was spotless, spacious and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail here is unlike most other places. Nothing has been missed and everything has been tailored to provide you with a perfect stay....

"What a gem, I have never been to the Lake District before and my jaw dropped the second you pull into the car park. I had made a note that we were celebrating a few special occasions and were given an upgrade I believe and a lovely card when we got to our room. The hotel is really easy to find your way around, nice staff, good food and drinks (malibu sunset was a personal fave). The lamb shank was delicious for a Sunday roast. "Craig and Tommy were excellent welcoming hosts and they couldn’t do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We loved the quirkiness, laid back feel, and atmosphere of the Ryebeck. The food was very good and we wish to pass on our compliments to the chef. The hotel’s location and its views across the Windermere are wonderful. We will certainly look to stay again.
