"This property is old and it shows it. The rooms look like they are from the 1980s and smell musty. But it is clean except for the Pull-out sofa which had old popcorn under the mattress which smelled bad. Their breakfast buffet was stellar, and they were very friendly. It looked like the rooms on the first floor had been renovated so hopefully the upper floor is in progress."

"It was hard to find the staff at the front desk for assistance about the room after checked in. My family booked 3 rooms in 2 nights for my son’s graduation at Cal Polytechnic, even the prices extremely high. But the fridges not working at all."

"A sleepy motel look from the outside but like a comfortable home inside. We loved staying at the Shell Beach Inn in a quiet part of Pismo. The suite is more like a one bedrroom owners accomodation, Rm 11 and definately would stay again. Some traffic noise, but, the beds have ear plugs on the night stands. To save money, you could stay in rm 9 which we saw & was equally welcoming. Dont forget to enjoy their pool too."

"We absolutely love the Inn at the cove for the location and tranquility. Our nine year old son reckons it is the best beach in the world. We now do this trip once a year and always a great time and time to bond !"

"The plumbing in the room barely worked, so we had to use the bathroom in the hallway. Our room was situated under the breakfast room, and the banging around lasted until after 11pm and started at 6am every morning. Other guests on our floor had the same complaint. The staff was uninterested in doing anything about any of it. Won't be staying here again."

"The elevator was out of service for the 4 days we were there and very inconvenient as we had rooms on the second floor and had to use the stairs. We were not told if the elevator issue until we arrived and we’re not offered rooms on the first floor. If a heart condition wasn’t an issue we would not have minded but it made it difficult. A clear ADA violation here!"

"No frills. When I say no frills not even an ice machine. The rooms are super clean and quiet. The staff was friendly checking us in. Easy walk to the beach. Not a bad place for a night between places."

"parking was very well lit, but the overall stay was poor. The room looked rough on the inside and the room was too small. Also, no one was there at check out and the place overall smelled very bad. "
