"I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked.
The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge...

"This is our third stay at the Alexander Pope Hotel in Twickenham. We had a gorgeous huge top floor room with windows on three sides, chairs and sofa with a cozy nook for coffee. The staff was quite helpful with our needs, with more of a front desk presence than in the past. The king bed was not the most comfortable, with a pronounced dip in the middle. "Great location. Staff and customer service wonderful. Free on road parking at the weekend.
Would have liked an ironing board in room. Windows don’t open and the plumbing in our room wasn’t great as it sounded like the toilet was constantly flushing.
However, we would return and just ask for a different room."
