Ashford International Hotel & Spa

"Efficient check in. You have to register your car on the self service kiosks, which is simple enough. The room was larger than expected which made it very comfortable to settle in for the week. Lots of storage spaces as well. One downside in our room was the power plugs were too close to the table top, so we couldnโt plug one of our chargers in, and even the other charger only just fit. Other plugs in the room were too close to the floor. The bathroom was very clean and had good water pressure. Only downside was the toilet flush didnโt have a lot of force and took a number of flushes to get the job done. Thereโs a staircase between the hotel car park and Sainsburyโs next door which was much appreciated so you donโt have to walk along the dual carriageway. The Sainsburyโs car park also gives you access to a number of other shops and restaurants in walking distance (including a pedestrian bridge to the other side of the motorway)."

"Pros: The room was very clean and had all the bits and bobs you need ( hair dryer, fan, iron, tea making stuff, tv and a fridge). The hotel also provided a travel cot for our baby. The room had a great sea view. The hotel it self is interesting, a bit run down and rough round the edges. There was live entertainment in the โballroomโ every night, which was cringy in an amusing way. The location is excellent. The room price was very reasonable (mid week). It is a budget hotel not a luxury one. Negatives: the front desk is very understaffed, we wanted to extend our stay and had to queue at reception, only to then be told we had to book via a phone attached to the wall. When we used the phone we were quoted ยฃ10 more than hotels.com. We then had to queue for another 20mins to get new key cards. There was only 1 receptionist for a hotel with hundreds of rooms. The pool was pleasant enough but you have to pay ยฃ4 each every single time you use it (even as a paying guest at the hotel). I think thatโs a bit cheeky and Iโve never experienced that in a hotel before. They could at least add a single charge to your room for a pool pass instead. We didnโt have breakfast as I thought it was a little over priced. Over all we enjoyed staying there and will definitely be returning."

"Lovely hotel by the beach. Very friendly staff. We were unexpectedly given a room upgrade which was lovely. The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. We used the pool and Spa facilities which we really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend the hotel and we would certainly stay again ๐"

"Stayed here to break up the journey driving from France to Manchester and chose it largely based on price so I wasn't expecting much and therefore was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean, rooms were a good size, beds really comfy and staff welcoming and professional. Kids loved the fishtanks, a great touch. Breakfast was really busy at 9am but the staff worked hard. Cereal, toast, coffee and a full English were all had. My only criticisms are that the room was a bit dated and the bathroom needs a facelift. The shower was powerful enough but the showerhead was fixed and low (I'm only 6ft) so a bit awkward. The tv is small and far away from the bed but that's just me being picky. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely stay here."

"The bedding could have been cleaner, there were some stains on the silk and dust across the tv unit area. The hotel WiFi kept losing connection. The restaurant area, could have been dusted down before we were seated. The glass roof and doors had stains and bird poop which is not pleasant to see especially when you are eating. Staff were friendly but the overall maintenance could have been a lot better and cleaner."
