"At arrival staff was not very welcoming. not rude but just no smile Staff was helpful with luggage though Be aware if you like face clothes they have none. was told it was not a 5 star hotel. Room was nice and clean. Had coffee, kettle, bottled water, soap, lotion etc.. arrived from a day of visiting london and there was not hot water!!! that was annoying and they didn't give explanation and did not know when it would be back. no comp. was offered."

"A very lovely, friendly and comfortable hotel. Staff were super friendly. Restaurant food was great. À la carte breakfast was also very good but there was no fruit offered which I was disappointed with. Times were also a little tight from breakfast, dinner, room cleaning and checkout but it was a small hotel so this is understandable. I would definitely stay here again. Thankyou."

"This was our 2nd stay when visiting Portsmouth for gigs. The hotel team are always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is always good with good selection of fruits and juices to compliment ( if you actually have room). Free parking on a 1st come basis. All in all a great place to stay when in Pompey!"

"We picked this place at random online, coming in from a 10 day cruise to Southampton. Booking online sight unseen is always a gamble, but this time we hit the jackpot. Totally charming English countryside inn, fantastic food, stunning rooms, very comfy pub, and amazing staff. I'd be remiss if I didn't single out Kate and Tahir, who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I can't recommend this place highly enough!"

"5* Luxury from the moment you walk in. Great selection of restaurants and the pub next door is fantastic. The leisure suite is the best I’ve visited with a poor, sauna and steam. The gym is state of art. Surrounding area offers great walks and wildlife. Reception first class and the massage was amazing. Bargain find."

"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be...
